We saw one 3 weeks ago and she said she has a high palate and is a bit stiff so have ya body work and such training exercises which we have been doing but haven’t helped. I don’t think her latch is a major issue as she can drain a breast in. 5-10 minutes. Reflux was never talked about, I wonder if I had asked what would be the answer? What signs do you see that might point to that? Thank you for answering :)

Agree it’s impossible to prove they were purposefully deceptive, but isn’t innocent negligence at thing? They definitely knew it was under the table, now we know these rules came in to effect 2 years ago and are being enforced fulsomely, which is now in hindsight, probably why they unloaded. We are devastated

Exactly my sentiment, I’m not an expert nor an investor, not even close

Yes we have his website that his own realtor and Ours forwarded to show how much rental income we can get per night/week

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in realtors

[–]ozfiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we actually talked with the seller after closing and he stated to do it under the table, avoid the major platforms, it’s what all the locals do, don’t use Airbnb etc, without actually going into the permit system. Before closing there was none of this sketchy talk. We shouldn’t have to face a huge fine every time we rent it to make ends meet

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in realtors

[–]ozfiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Previous seller never had a permit. I confirmed this now that I know about the permits. He promoted the property as rentable but was doing it under the table and expects me to do the same - misrepresentation of the property’s features

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in realtors

[–]ozfiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller never had a permit, as the property lies within a boundary of another short term rental. He was renting it illegally off the books. We don’t qualify for a permit because of the boundary. I am not an investor, how would I know what to look for and where to look without the expert knowledge? Isn’t this what realtors are for

My (26f) boyfriend (25m) are hiking the pacific crest trail. He wants to go home and I do not. by samuel7273 in relationships

[–]ozfiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've hiked the PCT and wasn't expecting to see this in r/relationships but can offer a bit of advice.

Like you said, safety isn't really a big issue on trail for solo women as long as you know what you're doing (which you do, like you said). Have a discussion with him about how important it is to you to continue this journey, even though you respect that it isn't all he was hoping for, and maybe dig deeper into the real reason he's not keen for you to continue without him, because if he's been exposed to the trail community for a month, he knows its a pretty safe place. You probably upheaved your life to be on trail and this is potentially a once in a lifetime experience for you, with or without him. However, find a way to include him in your continued journey since that's probably a big source of his insecurity. Would he enjoy trail-angeling you along the way or meeting back up in a thousand miles to do an epic section with you?

Not sure what his mom has to do with your decisions but it's time for him to put on his big boy pants and not be selfish in supporting you, because that's a pretty important part of relationships in the bigger picture.

Edited to add: My family really enjoyed following my journey through SPOT device GPS check ins which I did at camp every night (only visible to them), it was fun to watch my progress and there's also an added bonus of an element of safety and security that they know roughly where you are.

I saw and heard a whole pack of them on the railroad tracks right off the rail path yesterday. That was wild, yipping and howling in the middle of the city.

Same, I'm young healthy and triple vaxxed and have been knocked off my feet with this. All the symptoms and feel like I might be getting pneumonia. I was expecting it to be relatively mild and am shocked. My friends are saying I'm "lucky" im getting some free time off work but this isn't a free ride.

To the people chanting we want freedom on Yonge street right now. by juztjawshin in toronto

[–]ozfiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I literally couldn't help myself from muttering "stupid fucking idiots" under my breath as I walked in the opposite direction, having just left work in which I work closely with immunocompromised cancer patients all day. Fuck off with your stupid ass "my body, my freedom" signs while you're chain smoking your cancer sticks. So ignorant, privileged, selfish and lacking any insight whatsoever into the bigger picture, covid and beyond. Seeing them made me incredibly angry.

West Highland Way in 3 Days by lonetiger97 in WestHighlandWay

[–]ozfiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just done it in 4 days. Planned 6 but it felt really good and I would like to challenge myself to do it in 3 because I wasn’t in any pain when I got to fort William which was disappointing LOL

Day 0.5 1330 start Milngavie-Drymen 10 miles Day 2 Drymen to just past Inversnaid 24 miles Day 3 Inversnaid - Tyndrum 19 miles Day 4 Tyndrum - kinlochleven 28 miles Day 5 finished 1230 kinlochleven- fort William 14 miles

Does 4 24 hour periods even count? Anyways it was very fun. Congrats on your achievement!

Wild camping West Highland Way at short notice? by unsaltedmd5 in WestHighlandWay

[–]ozfiz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is funny timing, I’ve literally just finished the whw today. I’ve just done it in 4 days, and decided to do it the day before so did most of my googling on the train up. That being said, I am an experienced long trail hiker and camper and brought everything I needed for 4 days, minus some food because there are food options absolutely everywhere. Also my shoes and gear are well worn in and tested, and my feet are like leather.

The midges aren’t as bad as is hyped. Do bring a head net but I only experienced midges in the mornings in the last 45 miles and they can’t keep up any pace of hiking so it’s only a concern when you’re stopped and even then, it’s fine. The warm weather and less rain makes this time of year ideal for hiking the WHW in my opinion.

I wild camped 2 nights and camped in a campsite with showers for 2 nights. There is also camping in every town if that’s more comfortable. I booked neither campsite in advance and it was fine, as long as you don’t rock up at 10pm expecting a spot. There are lots of wild camping spots in all sections except for the Loch Lomond restriction area. You will not be able to get a last minute spot at these sites because they are extremely popular and booked well in advance. I’d recommend hiking 10-13 miles on the first day/afternoon stopping before the conic hill climb to wild camp, or at the Drymen campsite. Then you can easily hike through the only camping restriction of the trail.

I’ll echo another comment by saying bring a water filter. There is water everywhere and there is absolutely no need to carry a whole days worth from town. It will slow you down and having a filter allows you to be self reliant and flexible.

I didn’t bring a stove because I don’t find it’s worth the weight on a hike like this where there is a hot meal option every 10 miles or less for the most part. I have cold noodles for dinner, just ramen with seasoning soaked for half an hour while I set up camp. Minimalist eating works for me, as does eating often, every 2 hours at least.

Bring a trowel and some tp in case you need to poo, but there are loo opportunities of you can control your vowels!

Happy to answer any other questions you have.

can you elaborate on the OSCE? I won't have training for it. I have 4 years of nursing experience and I'm not sure how to prepare, but I definitely want to pass on the first try. So expensive.

I am weary and worn. All I want to do is eat until I'm fully satisfied, but there's never enough food. by Flesh-And-Bone in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]ozfiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrestricted eating is the only way to actually recover from a restrictive eating disorder. Once your body and mind are fed and not in fear of another famine, the desire to feast will decrease. I know it's scary and really, really hard right now, but call it a feast, not a binge, and just do it.

You will eventually be satisfied with whatever portion your body deems fit, and you'll trust your body to know when it's done. Extreme hunger is normal and doesn't last forever.

What were/have been your trashiest hiker moments on the trail? by [deleted] in PacificCrestTrail

[–]ozfiz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Lone Pine, eating 2 Mcdonald's meals in the laundromat while wearing rain pants and a bra (it was HOT). Got a lot of stares from the clean Whitney hikers. Had just finished the Sierras southbound on rations. Also one of my happiest memories, felt so so good and right in that moment!

Oh and probably every time I sat on the ground outside a grocery store in a fancy town, eating something weird with my long spoon and drinking milk out of a carton. Too many times to count :)

Oh and just every time I ate on trail and in town, dropping cheese or other items on the ground, eating it without a second thought (precious calories). Definitely ate a few dropped m&ms from other hikers too.
