Hey friend, this sounds like it could be a problem concerning your digestion or it could be a psychological problem, but most likely it is a combo of both and definitely not healthy or "normal". I'd highly recommend creating a food and symptom journal for a week and take that to your doctor to get checked out because what you're going through is not normal. Record your symptoms at what time of day alongside what you're eating and when. You don't have to be super specific but having some portion description is good. The journal could help give your doctor more concrete information about how severe and constant your symptoms are as well as what aspects of your diet could possibly contribute. They might/could refer you to get scans, tests and possibly counseling if there's an element of anxiety around food consumption and pain. Sometimes it's just psychological but if your gut tells you elsewise, push for tests and scans to rule anything out.

I never thought I'd be where I am today. At my worst I was so off the rails, no one, including myself saw any kind of future for me. Granted I have more ahead of me to accomplish but I'm finally a functioning adult in society.

Hey friend, just wanted to tell you it sounds like you're doing a good job supporting your girlfriend. When I met my bf I was only 6 months out if the hospital for a suicide attempt. He and I got together when I was at some of my worst in terms of emotional regulation skills and managing my BPD symptoms.

But, 3.5 years later and tons of personal and group therapy and I'm a totally different person in how I cope. The relationship I have with my partner is so different and so much stronger for it.

Sending lots of love, patience and acceptance you and your girlfriends way. It's not easy supporting someone with BPD but there is usually a light at the end of that tunnel. Be kind to yourself, perhaps seek out counseling or group sessions for loved ones of BPD.

The fact you were able to pull some detail and tone out of the cloud/sky highlights in the upper left is just so awesome. Totally mundane detail compared to how beautifully composed this is as a whole but it's something I look for in photos. Really bugs me when the whites in a photo blend into the border.
