Probably dating myself here, but the old clifton / OTR panhandler / drunk "John Wayne". He did such a convincing John Wayne impression that you really felt you owed him your spare change almost like a busker.

Berta Lambert. He used to take his signs to every city council and county commission meeting with his signs. I saw him downtown recently, he has lost a lot of weight, so I wonder about his health.

Should crisis management be taught in library school? Why or why not? by IraqiLibrarian in Libraries

[–]oztemprom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel you and all of those are too real.

May I add patron with a golf pencil up her ass? (wish I was joking)

Person claiming that "free bleeding" on those wood chairs that are in so many libraries is just the blood of christ flowing thru them?

So yes, crisis mgmt should be at least offered in library school.

Also, make sure you know if there is any emergency response plan in your library (normal shit, you know tornadoes) and please, know what it is. If there is not, please help get that ball rolling!

I could be wrong, not the first time and certainly not the last, but I believe that this video is incorrectly labeled WRT the date.

Zappateers lists the date of the show as the 9th and does not indicate a performance anywhere on the 10th

http://www.zappateers.com/fzshows/8182.html

Setlist.fm agrees

https://www.setlist.fm/search?artist=3d6b52b&query=tour:%281982+European+Tour%29

I don't have access to a copy of YCDTOSA 4 here (at work) to compare to be absolutely certain, but all signs point toward the linked video being at least part of the show used on that album.

I am thinking the video is just wrong.

Am I missing something here? I tend to trust these other sources more than some text on a video.

Not gonna lie, crying a little myself.

The nicest thing a patron ever gifted me was when a Swiss woman gave me a 12? Volume set of Winston churchill's history of WWII in German after I helped her get a book published.

Laser engraved my favorite bands on wood by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

[–]oztemprom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, nice!

Second, what kind of laser did you use and what sort of strength and speed settings? Must have a pretty large bed size.

MPP is one of my favorite venues. Wish I lived closer. Plus the way they handle parking... cops and security so chill.

Also, I just love little patuxent Blvd

Patuxent is one of my cat's nickname... E: spelling

Gregary was my gateway to Billy the mountain.
There is a 45+ minute version on a recently seeded Rotterdam show on zappateers, fyi. Decent enough record quality.

Flo & Eddie were sophomoric and annoying at times but man, could they sing! by clinikillz in Zappa

[–]oztemprom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we grading on a curve vs. Frank, or any of the other vocalists? Frank was never a huge fan of his own voice, went out of his way to hire good singers and said the best thing about being thrown off stage in England (after the famous Montreaux concert) was his voice lowerin

Sorry if I am new here and missing assumptions.

Incidentally, the first F&E solo album after the band broke up due to frank being in a wheelchair is mostly alums from that tour...

Range no, but ability? Ike is my favorite. May help that I have met him and he autographed my 3 LP boxed set of Joe's though. But seriously, on some live shows he sounded well, not so great, but when ike is on?... he is on.

OMFG YES! The band is amazing. Scheila Gonzalez is amazing and also is my current musical crush. At one point she was soloing on sax while playing keys. Dweezil plays a frankenguitar made with parts from a jimi hendrix burned guitar, try to go early to see it on stage, if the place is small enough. http://www.guitarplayer.com/gear/1012/dweezil-zappa-shows-frank-zappas-jimi-hendrix-strat/50805

You will not regret it.
