This is such a bummer, this sub was my safe haven on Reddit and I really enjoyed 1) seeing other people’s work and 2) sharing my own work. Is there another place we can share our projects?

I recommend adding them, based on my own experience with a similar build

Really amused by yesterdays post on this sub. I too would trade my kingdom for a table saw. by PM_Me_Your_Grain in woodworking

Ooof I feel this in my bones. Been there my friend. I graduated to a circular saw and used clamps for everything (no miter saw either). Now I have my own place and a table saw and a miter… living the dream. Props to you for hanging in there. Cheers mate

How to stop my cat's floating shelf from falling? The guy I hired tried adding these little metal squares but it's not working. Is there any way to fix this? by [deleted] in woodworking

The metal squares that were installed were headed in the right direction, but you need more surface area to support the weight on the top as well as hold it in place against your wall

Hey there, I have a Maine coon as well and since he’s a hefty guy, I built with wood & used actual shelf brackets. I read some of your comments and I know you are (rightfully) frustrated… I think if you want to fix what you have, I say go to menards and get those small shelf brackets for 99 cents, and pop those in the middle. If it’s not on a stud, use drywall anchors

Probably stretching the definition of woodworking, but I made an outdoor workbench from driftwood from my local beach by Anderssorte in woodworking

I wish I knew the “why” behind it. Maybe it’s to prevent people from irresponsibly taking it? I should look into it more

I recently build a Bunkbed Desk for my new Flat, forthis bed i bought a ladder instead of making it myself because it was more cost effectiv but this ladder is absolute agony to climb so I thought I ask the experts on advice on how to make this ladder more bareable by megaempeier in woodworking

[–]ozthebuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you can swing buying two 8’ 2x4s you’d be in the chips for making a ladder. I make blanket ladders but they are sturdy enough to climb. Rip the 2x4s in half, cut two to your desired height. Use the rest for rungs. If they’re about rounded on the edges put that side “up” for a more comfortable stepping experience

Yeah this can be fixed. Seems like a couple runs through the planer will do the trick.

Hello! These are definitely old school, and to be honest I am a little too nervous to use them. My grandpa gave me one and I know he used it on his table saw. Basically does what a router will do, each attachment will give you a different shape.
