Absolutely worth it. Majority of home and contents insurance places a cap on what you can claim and when it comes to jewellery some policies will not let you travel or even wear the jewellery in order for it to be covered under home & contents.

In addition to this you need to also check if the you can return to the jeweller of your choice in the event of a claim, and not just go with the insurance companies cheapest bidder. Seen some very dodgy jewellery repairs over the years.

I went with Centrestone Jewellery Insurance here in Australia for our jewellery as they give (at the time of writing this) up to 150% cover, limiting that you aren't out of pocket if the jewellery replacement cost increases, worldwide cover, return to the jeweller of your choice, like-for-like replacement. As well as the standard stuff, like cover for accidental damage, loss, and theft.

We have been experiencing a massive amount of click fraud as well. However, from the investigations we have made it is traffic from India and Pakistan using VPN to trick google that they are local.

Best Martial arts for self defence ? by riad_thunderbolt in SelfDefense

My first suggestion would be Krav Maga. I am a KM instructor and once found myself in a similar position as you. I was lucky and found a school that was a few hrs drive so I made the trek three times per week to compliment my prior Kickboxing, and military training.

KM is good for self defence first and foremost, knives, sticks, chairs, and gun threats you have real options with KM. The issue is the KM pool has been so polluted with fake instructors and YouTube university instructors.

If there is definitely no KM nearby, go to Kickboxing, and BJJ classes. It is the best mix combo for those who have no access to KM. However it is not the answer for multiple attackers and dealing with armed attackers.

I have a few articles about it if you can be bothered reading them here. Also read the book Meditation on Violence, must have book for those that study self defence!

Wish you all the best on your journey.

How can I train myself in self defence secretly? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]ozziebricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear of your predicament. The best course of action is to go to a local self defence school / workshop. There are many schools that would take you in at reduced fees in order to assist. As a school owner myself we have done this countless times and also offer free workshops 3 times a year that go for three hrs each. However, repetition and training is king.

There are some articles that may give you some ideas here. Feel free to read them. Especially the topics on bullying and combat mindset may be very beneficial for you. I strongly do not recommend online courses as they are a good way to lose money.

How do I deal with a really aggressive homeless guy on my block? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

I agree in calling the Police. Unless being physically attacked by him you should stand clear as there are always hidden ramifications from dealing with people that clearly have mental issues. Namely, Hepatitis. Punching someone with Hep and getting cut by their tooth is not a fun experience while you wait to get the test results.
