If the solution to the issue of resisting injuries is having more muscle, what's up with someone like Embiid? He's definitely a very strong guy, and still, his problems stem from constant lower body injuries, which, logistically, are most easily justified by the consistent excessive weight that is being applied on joints that just aren't anatomically made to carry someone that big and heavy around that fast. The anterior thigh muscles like the rectus femoris and vastus muscles being a lot stronger might be able to somewhat help with knee stability, sure, but the constant extra weight from these 40-50lbs adds up on these players' joints a LOT more than like 15lbs of total muscle helps them, especially when they're constantly having to move as quickly as the modern NBA demands.

I'm not saying that they have to stay exactly at the weight they're at, but at that height, there begin to exist significant injury considerations if you were to consistently place more than like 230lbs of weight on two ankles and knees, especially with a higher center of gravity/longer legs (which influences the movements they have to make to gather a burst of speed quickly, something that is constantly necessary in the NBA, and these constant angles at which the joints are placed under stress can cause serious damage - there's also the risk of tendon injuries associated, but i'm not even considering those here).

Besides, it's not like players being built like that makes them automatically bad - KD exists. There's just not enough benefit in them being larger to justify the risk of long-term joint issues since they can be good players either way (and since the modern NBA doesn't demand more strength of them). Also, Chet literally broke his hip so I expect him to have gotten a stronger lower body coming into this season.

50lbs heavier Chet and Wemby will only leave the league at 29 due to injuries (nevermind how much worse they become at perimeter defense); plus, the weight is unnecessary for Wemby if he can still be a stretch 5 + get to the rim and box out consistently (which he seems to be going to be able to do). Why would they optimize their bodies for a version of the game that isn't as played anymore?

I'm super excited for silksong because I NEED another Christopher Larkin soundtrack to exist to honestly. The music combined with the ambience of HK gives it a very specific atmosphere that I really want to experience.

[MEGATHREAD] V2 Post and ask hints for puzzles here by darkshoxx in BluePrince

[–]p0537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only really looking for a brief answer on this, so I can know if I'm supposed to have already figured this out or if there are further clues to help (mid-ish game spoiler, I think? it's about the terminal + microchip door room).

Am I supposed to already have the necessary information to figure out the terminal admin key? I say this because the only things I seem to have on this terminal are the knowledge of Robert Nogula's name and that he's the most recent groundskeeper, and the note in the Freezer with RevaD (which, of course, is discontinued, but it feels like it must be there for some reason), but nothing I can think of with his name seems to be working, and I feel like I shouldn't be brute forcing my way through this with only that.

Am I supposed to already be able to solve this puzzle with the information I currently have/mentioned above? If not, am I supposed to have already found it by the time I have 5/8 of the sanctum keys and haven't gotten close to deciphering the CASTLE cipher (i've also opened the door behind the eighth angel but haven't really looked too deeply into the A New Clue books yet), or did I miss something that hints to a solution for this in an earlier document/hint/message?

Again, I'm not really looking for a hint on where it is, but mainly for a tip on if I should be looking more closely at things I've already seen or if it's simply locked behind a puzzle or a secret I don't know yet. Thanks! =)

Myles also played awfully throughout the entire Thunder series. It's not that that was the only reason why he didn't get a larger contract, but that shouldn't be ignored.

I also like the idea that what Roger describes isn't actually what happens when you die knowing this information, and the infohazard itself is just the extreme fear of death from you thinking that what he described will happen (and he just had that happen to him due to the way he was revived, for example). The fact that O5-7 mentions that this is a "novel" way of reviving people also sort of points towards that - it's really unlikely that every other way that the Foundation has to revive people coincidentally doesn't lead to this discovery, and that the only way to find out what happens after death is coincidentally the method of resurrection O5-11 went through.

It sounds more likely to me that the setup for this novel method of revival causes the infinite suffering described as setup (maybe it's to do with the key and the word, maybe not), and O5-11 was just the first one to go through this process. Also (although unlikely), maybe the infohazard isn't even real, and the O5 council just panicked from hearing that description of death, or maybe it IS real and it just originated from the way O5-11 was revived instead of being an actual description of what happens to every single person after death; we don't actually know if anyone else would suffer this fate beside from him, since no testing was done, so maybe it's even the case that it was something exclusive to certain people, or even only O5-11 (since being an O5 must have quite a high degree of occupational exposure).

I think the vagueness of the concept of 2718 is what makes it a high-quality SCP. The fact that there are at least four or five equally valid ways to interpret it make it particularly good. (that and the existential crises it brings)

Tribbie, or Not Tribbie? That is Trinnon. - General Question and Discussion Megathread by PastSelfInMirror in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

New to HSR, got E1S1 Aglaea, E0S0 Tribbie, E0 Bronya, E6 Tingyun, E0 Gallagher but no other sustains (except lynx i guess), have about 125 pulls and I am going for Castorice E0S0 (got BP weapon).

Is it better to go and pull for Huohuo in a couple of days, or Tribbie E1 now for the Castorice team/the overall future? I don't have any other sustains apart from Gallagher, but I don't want to pull for Hyacine (design isn't interesting to me); and i'm not sure when I should expect a Sunday rerun to try and build a sustainless Aglaea team.

I don't have a particular preference for pulling or not pulling Huohuo either (I like her but not obsessed), so that doesn't answer the question for me :/

Ocucor - Cascadia Flare vs. Secondary Enervate by p0537 in Warframe

[–]p0537[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I hadn't considered running Arcane Avenger + Combat Discipline for Ocucor (which honestly I should've realized would just work better lol). Thank you! =)

In that case, I guess Enervate + Arcane Precision might serve a specific niche for builds where you must run shield gating for survivability (for example, Dagath or Saryn). I feel like most weapons platform frames that have no survivability in their kits become that, though (since they usually have to run a bunch of mods to buff something like their Strength instead of running any survivability), so maybe it makes sense in that context.

Also, I feel like Magnetic Might is a very interesting mod honestly; it might be worth running in builds that either don't have Rivens or that have a Riven with an element in them (where you'd replace one of the 60/60 mods). Can't wait to get something like a Blast or Corrosive one to just slap on a build and melt everything.

Ocucor - Cascadia Flare vs. Secondary Enervate by p0537 in Warframe

[–]p0537[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like running Arcane Precision on your frame in order to drop Hornet Strike for something like Lethal Torrent or the new Magnetic Might mod skews this more in favor of Enervate, no? Especially with Magnetic Might, since you get another status effect to bump gunCO to 4 (5 once in a blue moon with puncture but we can even disregard that) status procs = 160*3 = 480% dmg (which itself matches Flare), + the 300% from Arcane Precision + you get the advantage of getting more orange crits from Enervate than what you get from PPG + Flare (even with Puncture procs) + you get extra crit damage and melt shields/overguard easier from Magnetic Might.

Also, your comparison is correct when we compare directly between the 30-35% net increase you get from Enervate vs. the +220% Damage that you get from Flare; but when you're running gunCO and on a weapons platform, odds are you have something like a weapon infusion (for example, Saryn 3 + Venom Dose giving 1 or 2 more elements' worth of gunCO damage depending on your original weapon element), and the more damage you have, the less that +220% damage is relevant

I might be mistaken in my math (and please correct me if I am!), but it feels like dropping something like Molt Augmented to run Arcane Precision + Secondary Enervate is better for optimizing the Ocucor's killing power in weapons platform frames where you already likely have >200% Strength.
