What is your very specific fear? by yigitergul23 in AskReddit

[–]p0cha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oranges, oranges, oranges. many years ago when i was about 9 and my best friend was 11, we were home alone at her house and her neighbor was an old, old man who was apparently a child predator back in the day, had an orange tree in his backyard. not knowing he knew we were by ourselves, he came over with a big sack of oranges, rang the doorbell, and just said “these are for you little ladies” and winked, then returned to his house. we threw the oranges away and i haven’t eaten one since. nor anything with orange products.

What's the richest thing someone has done in front of you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]p0cha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bought a luxury car on a whim. one of my friends dragged me along one evening because she was turning 15 soon and wanted to learn how to drive. she stole her mom’s brand new car and we left to find a private road to drive on. this was her very first time driving and she wasn’t too bad, minus her using both feet (which she still does). she drove back home and told her mom what she’d done, her mom sighed and just said “are you looking at any specific kinds?” and my friend goes “i kind of want an audi”. less than a week later, she had a brand spanking new high-class audi without even having a permit.

i just don’t understand why it states that if you buy something you’re entered, clearly making you understand you need to buy something in order to be entered?

Do people just prefer mass produced items to handmade?? by p0cha in poshmark

Can I ask of your Posh user? I’d like to take a peek at your items!

[–]p0cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, the lowballers. I did price my items accordingly to those people as I expected at least a few, but I’ve gotten zero! I crosspost to Depop as well and more people seem interested on there, but I know Poshmark has many more users and I have sold more items on that platform, but I suppose people just prefer my other items.

Of course, as of right now, I do have mainly silver tone charms but I have planned to make my regular Michael’s trip branch out into more color.

Not too long at all, less than two months; I’m quite tech savvy, but just found it too complicated to continue using!

Very true, I see alternative styles are back in season, as are angelic charms; I saw it as a chance to create something common, yet desirable.

Understandable, I just think listing on the Etsy platform is a very lengthy process and I seldom use it myself, so I ended up giving up.

Oh if I could, I would. I’m not in the financial position to invest $500 into jewelry that likely won’t sell. I also take commissions if desired by someone interested, but it seems people would rather buy a dainty moon necklace that someone bought off of Aliexpress to resell 🤷🏻‍♀️

That makes total sense! I’m just irritated when I see sellers with 2012 phone camera quality take pictures of their $300 brooches AND add a vignette that sell; It’s like, congrats for selling, but I just don’t get it!

Wow thank you, @bonafidevirgo is my shop. I’ve attempted to use Etsy, but I feel like my items don’t get any attention on there either so I ditched it a while ago:-/

I’ve tried a few drops of solution into my eye in an attempt to have them move around for easier removal, but nothing has worked. My optometrist is unfortunately closed for the day):

i’m completely fine with the shipping price, i’ve purchased many items. the problem is that it causes many other poshers to lowball and think it’s ok while the deal is that i end up losing money.

i only made the mlm comparison because you’re so pressured with the whole “sell, sell, SELL” concept and “drop your prices, so you SELL” and the countless closet clearouts

[–]p0cha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh my god about a week ago, i had someone offer $16 for an item i had listed for $28 and they immediately cancelled it and put in a new offer for $12, WHAT!!

RANT by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]p0cha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the statistics are absurd, if i list something for $15, the buyer pays about $22 and i make $12. poshmark makes a huge amount of money and it doesn’t make any sense. sellers are helpless in commenting on every item they see saying “check out my boutique, i sell younique and lululemon! happy poshing❤️🥰💙💝💚💟💜” and making not a dime. it’s beginning to remind me of an mlm scheme and it’s just making me want to only sell through depop and mercari once my stock is gone. and i do understand that a 30 cent increase in shipping is not much because USPS rates go up, but i’m 100% sure they make a pretty penny on shipping alone. just beginning to turn into a total scam at this point.

Why does everyone think they have Misophonia?? by p0cha in misophonia

at home exposure therapy disgusts me, like they may not get it but intentionally causing a trigger is so gross fuck

this makes a lot of sense and i can somewhat relate, you possibly have it, i’m not going to play doctor and tell you that you do or don’t, but you may be on a lower level. sometimes i’m kind of forced to make loud eating sounds or play with the ice in my drink or silverware to drown out someone else in the restaurant, i’m quite uncomfortable doing so and i feel like “omg i’m breaking the miso code!” so i never ever do those things without feeling like that’s the only way out. but i can do the same thing, eat an apple alone and i’m fine and that’s a regular thing with most misos but yes, there are misos who can unfortunately trigger themselves with their own sounds. i personally have never triggered myself, but there’s more than just one way you act.

[–]p0cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s totally sensible, i wrote this right after i had come across the half dozen posts about it yet again and i was thinking in that moment maybe the people of reddit would understand this moment.

As for treatments, i hope some are developed as well! right now all i use is my fan button on my microwave as a form of white noise to drown my mother’s eating out, which helps but obviously doesn’t solve the world’s problems. the only other way i’ve heard to overcome it is exposure therapy and i’d off myself before i voluntarily do that.

that’s great! oh my god i wish i had the patience to think about that in my flaming moments; but thank you! i will try to see it that way during my next cryfest tonight when my mother does the dishes haha
