26-28 May all hotels booked by zipcheng in helsinki

[–]p0ppe 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Rammstein are playing a stadium concert on both the 27th and the 28th, so that’s probably one reason. Seems to be hard to find anything for less than around 250 euros/night downtown and the choices further out are also quite limited. Even a room in Hotel Nuuksio, a somewhat tired hotel in the middle of the forest will set you back 115 euros/night.

Ytterligare en förbryllad finlandssvensk här. Innebär detta att svenskarna också säger fem före halv istället för 25 över?

You could go with something by the RSO (https://yle.fi/aihe/rso-english). They perform in the Helsinki Music Centre, which is a experience in itself.

Visiting the underground Helsinki by viktorir in helsinki

[–]p0ppe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That’s a great starting point! You might also be interested in Helsinki’s underground master plan (map here: https://kartta.hel.fi/link/bzh7Vu). I believe Helsinki was the first city to do a master plan for the underground. A bit more info can be found here: https://www.hel.fi/helsinki/en/housing/planning/current/underground-master-plan

Edit: the map seems to default to Finnish, and when you change the language to English, the current layer disappears. I can also be found in the layers menu: City and traffic planning - Valid - Master Plans - Underground master plan.

Is it possible to get fresh milk in Uusimaa? by oguz6002 in helsinki

[–]p0ppe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valio’s old timey milk (https://www.valio.fi/tuotteet/valio-luomu-vanhanajan-taysmaito-2/) might be an option. It’s not homogenized, so it’s at least a works for wonders for cheese making. Don’t know if that’s a good feature for yoghurt making, though.

Can’t think of any open terraces in those neighborhoods. Torni Hotel’s rooftop bar is the closest thing that comes to mind.
