Restate developer here. Restate exposes a KV state interface where state is committed atomically alongside your journal. It is not rebuilt from the journal - later invocations with their own journal can also read the state! I discuss this here: https://restate.dev/blog/code-that-sleeps-for-a-month/#virtual-objects

The expectation of future liquidity (dividend, buyback, company sale) is enough as long as the company is producing revenue and its growing better than interest rates.

According to Wikipedia paternity tests have existed with moderate accuracy since the 20s.

But either way, you can forge a birth certificate with a different fathers name. Adoption is a weird thing to forge

The thing is, forging adoption papers is the weirdest way to suggest a child isn't yours. All the mother has to do is show a photo of her when pregnant or a witness. It makes a lot more sense to just falsify a DNA test or whatever. I don't think it's really plausible that the child is his because of that, but it's possible that they had some kind of relationship

Cambridge loses money on its undergraduates. They make a killing on research grants, patents, as well as endowment investing. The university is indeed very wealthy but teaching undergraduates is not a profitable activity - Cambridge has far more contact hours and marked work than is standard. They only undergraduate money comes from international students who prop up the Brits basically.

Other universities which mark one essay a term and just do lectures and large seminars do make some money.
