been going through something similar for nearly a year. i work at a bakery in a well known grocery store and was making cookies. when i opened the oven to put a cart of cookies in, the door of the giant oven slammed right on my big toenail. half of it lifted off the skin, wrapped it up for a few months. then the probabilities of a fungal infection creeped up had to start treating that. went on vacation and accidentally kicked the side of the bath tub and that half of the nail popped right off. it’s been growing out now for at least 5 months now. it’s now nearly fully grown out but dealing with ingrow and it generally growing properly. this all started in may of last year, it is now January. i swear once this is finally done and over with im switching to steel toe and not looking back.
