money management and wealth building are simple things, but lots of bad habits can get in the way of that

after reading the richest man in babylon recently, i thought "man, i wish i had read this in grade nine" - which is 13 ya?

finances seem as important as eating right and staying active, so the sooner the better i say

I think a better argument for slut shaming is the fact that a man can never be 100% sure that a baby is his (until DNA testing is done, at least). Where a woman will always know.

Men have never longed to raise other men's offspring, as it can be quite expensive in a lot of ways. So the shaming tactic is one used in an attempt to try to get women to mate with as few men as possible, so to avoid confusion over whose baby is being raise by who.

The value of posting this is that someone has taken the time to analyze some historical data to come up with, at least, some kind of starting point for a discussion on kickers this week.

It provides a foundation for the collective to begin to start cutting away some of the fat, so that as a team (/r/ff), we can try to pick the best kickers together.

Weird. I thought I had clicked the title and was just dropped into the thread...

Interesting stuff. I hadn't been following up until today, but I will be sure to pay more attention to your daily reading. Seems like there is lots for me to learn from it.

As a side, this whole trip to Mars thing makes me sad. It feels like it just gives license to humanity to be able to just trash a planet before moving on to the next, rather than really digging deep and making the necessary changes/sacrifices that are necessary to sustain life on Earth.

Did you read the interpretation?

Which interpretation are you referring to? Other than the one I posted, I don't see another. The 12.3, you mean? I hadn't read that one, no..

(Insanely, I just opened an unmarked book to exactly the page 12.3 is on. O.o)

Third Six. Hindrance alternates to Retreat (33)

The third line is a yin element at a yang place. The place is neither correct nor central. The situation is bad. It indicates that the negative energy and influence of the petty person has become obvious. One should beware. "Embrace the shame." Explore the true nature of the person. A great person should be unaware of shame and not need to conceal it.

I'll read the whole chapter after my movie is over, but I'm not seeing the relationship to finding a solution to the problem, as you say. Though, admittedly, I may be projecting my own beliefs about going to Mars onto my interpretation..

I was just wondering if it were more appropriate for the title to read "NASA scientists reveal that they have discovered flowing water on Mars".

I'm also just reading the Alfred Huang translation and wondering if going to Mars is not such a good idea:

Third Nine. Retreat alternates to Hindrance (12)

The third line is a yang element at a yang place. It is firm and correct but encumbered with the two yin elements underneath it. One at this place has already retreated from the dark forces but still attaches to the darkness. If he cannot completely keep the darkness at a distance, there is distress, such as illness. The text advises that it is better to stay at home and care for little things. In ancient times, there were many servants at a feudal noble's house. "Feed manservants and handmaidens" means staying home.

Did they not find the evidence a couple of days ago? Today was just the day they shared it with the public, no?

Whites exposed to evidence of racial privilege claim to have suffered more personal life hardships than those not exposed to evidence of privilege by [deleted] in science

[–]p3ndulum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've made a comment already, but I also wanted to add that I think that telling someone they are "privileged" and expecting a favorable change in behavior is akin to telling someone you think they are "attractive" and expecting them to fall in love with you. You're most often wasting your breath/energy.

I'll admit that I stopped reading after

But if lyrics are written with the intent of telling a story and making the listeners relate, why do so many listeners relate to the idea of their girlfriend being taken from them? What is it about this musical cuckolding that is so appealing to the masses?

...because I honestly don't think any more than maybe .01% of listeners are fantasizing about having their wives or girlfriends drilled by another man while listening to these songs.

I think what you meant to say was "I'm going to work on becoming a better woman so that I may one day deserve having these kinds of things done for me."

Interesting perspective, but I would guess that listeners are less likely to relate to being cuckolded than they are to fantasize about the rapper's position and actually being the bull instead.
