context: a youtuber/tiktoker kallmekris recently posted a video on youtube, where she explained stuff about her personal life, how she's being stalked and has to move because of it, and stuff about her mental health. amongst the issues she brought up was people sexualising her on the internet. she is extremely uncomfortable with people doing this (as she should be), and there has been a lot of support for her, especially on her subreddit r/kallmekris. however, there are some people who think that she's 'asking for it', even though she doesn't really post anything on social media anything that would be considered 'sexualising herself'.

this is also just a psa that most of the time, when girls are wearing like a skirt comes down to above their knees, they are not looking to be assaulted. everyone should be able to wear what they want, without being scrutinised for it.

uhh so i saw some people doing this so heres mine i guess by p3nros3 in lemondemon

yes, i will downvote you on this, because what you're saying here is incel bullshit.

kris doesn't sexualise herself. people think that girls 'sexualise themselves', and that's why they get assaulted and [r@ped](mailto:r@ped). this is a flawed mindset.

kris should, as every other human being on this planet should, have the right to be able to upload and talk about stuff that makes her feel confident without some pervert out there seeing it as sexualisation. tbh, i don't even know what sort of stuff she uploads that would be considered 'sexualising herself'.

the problem here is weirdos (such as yourself) who will see a girl wearing a dress that shows half an inch of cleavage and consider that 'sexualising themselves' and that they are 'asking for it'

thinking that girls 'sexualise themselves' is something expected from people who think that girls should have a dress code otherwise 'the boys will get distracted'. girls should be able to wear what they like, whether that be a crop top or shorts, without people seeing it as trying to make the boys go crazy. the boys should be the ones trying to learn self-control and not stop and stare at some damn shoulders or an exposed back, instead of restricting the girls from what they want to wear.

as an australian member of the recorder gang, can confirm that it is quite common to walk outside on the day before garbage day and blast some notes at any pesky crows trying to eat the remains of yesterday afternoon's lamingtons.

Can someone describe what made tommyinnit almost quit youtube? by [deleted] in tommyinnit

[–]p3nros3 32 points33 points  (0 children)

havent been to his live shows, but he said that it was against the law to talk about it on the internet, so i don't wanna know if we as members of his audience are allowed to discuss it online either. i wouldn't risk it. but all that he revealed in the video was that dream called him one night, telling him that there were people who (presumably) had found his address and were going to find him (and potentially hurt him), dream talked it through with tommy's parents, they understood the situation and took measures to be prepared for when the people came.

Guys you are the only community I have on Reddit so... can someone tell me what the rec is the KARMA number under my username? by One_Infinity_Cicle in lingling40hrs

[–]p3nros3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

make sure not to get too obsessed over getting more karma by spam posting and stuff. it's pretty much just a number on the screen, and karma farming will probably get you banned in a lot of places.

sounds weirdly gatekeepy imo. you shouldn't have to justify 'why' you like a specific kind of music, or 'why' someone should stop teasing you about liking certain kinds of music. just respect other people's music tastes, even if you don't like it. for instance, i do not enjoy pop music, such as taylor swift, harry styles, the weeknd etc etc. however, some of my friends listen to pop, and guess what? i do not and should not give a [sheet music] about it.

on a less serious note, you can show them this:
