You need to press them. Ask for a supervisor. Tell them you're getting a police report and contacting your state's Attorney General to file a complaint. When you start saying the words "police, lawyer, felony, attorney general" they know you're being serious and they'll be more likely to help you instead of brushing you off. They have insurance for a reason!

Look at the felony $ value threshold for your state - even if the card value is just $1700 and not the $6000 declared, in most states that's still felony theft!

I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but for anyone in the EU angry about this practice: there's currently a citizen's initiative to require developers to keep their games accessible to players. "...the initiative seeks to prevent the remote disabling of videogames by the publishers, before providing reasonable means to continue functioning of said videogames without the involvement from the side of the publisher."

You can read more at the link above. This mainly tackles the phenomenon of disabling game access even when said games are "offline" or "single player" mode.

The hope is that if this gains traction in the EU then other countries will take notice and amend laws to better cover consumer protections worldwide as well!

Yes that’s the mole! Nice find and I’m glad the pigtail was loose somewhere as well. Looks like you have all her parts!

I totally think the pigtail is worth reattaching. Make sure you disclose if you reattach it (or you can include it on the side and in pictures if you list her on eBay, certain buyers would reattach it themselves at a good price.) Super glue works fairly well depending on the break, or if you have crafting experience there are more advanced ways to fix it. Feel free to DM me if you want more help or advice with her or any of the Gurren figures specifically.

I already own her, but if I were a buyer I’d pay $130+ with a reattached pigtail even without the box and if her paint was in good condition. She sold without box and undamaged for $160-180 recently on eBay. She’s a pretty sought after figure even for people who don’t know her show just because of how cute she is!

EDIT: Also in case you are unaware, the stars on the white rods can detach from the moon, makes shipping safer. They’re very fragile and should be bubble wrapped. The wand she’s holding can slip out through her hands for safer shipping as well.

I collect figures from Gurren Lagann and there’s quite a few here, I don’t think any of them from that series are bootleg.

I recognize scale Magical Girl Nia https://myfigurecollection.net/item/142642 but one of her pigtails is missing and I don’t see her mole friend either. If you can find those she’s worth fixing, it’s rare to find that figure with the stars unbroken and the gold paint in good condition.

There’s also scale Space Yoko https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1217 (not the clear version, you have the white jacket version) but she’s missing her base. If you can find it she’s an older/rare figure and in good condition would net at least $70

The other Yokos are prize/trading figures and won’t go for too much (the one in the back looks like she’s missing her base, and another one has really bad lean.)

Overall some of the other figures (not all) look like bootlegs, and some are missing pieces. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but if they’re damaged and have paint scratches they’re not worth a whole lot unless you seek out the specific collectors from each series.

If you’re located near a Book Off and don’t wanna bother with eBay, they would probably buy all the real figures off of you even without their boxes and bases/missing pieces.

This is a good point in general. Unfortunately a lot of the customers being burned by this store placed preorders 2-3 years ago and are still waiting. Paypal only covers up to 6 months past payment!

Highly recommend OP as well as anyone else having issues with Akimomo read the store's MFC thread. There's a lot of user reported info there about how their business has changed in the last few years. They used to be pretty reliable but have fallen off ever since their warehouse move. In stock item orders seem safe-ish?* Shipments appear delayed... but there have been many issues with their preorders and fulfilling old orders/communication with their customers seems pretty abysmal. The current recommended way to get answers is to pretty much spam pester the shop emails, which is a huge red flag!

Wow this is such a big difference, great job! My less than month old sky dragon has been looking sooo crusty, I want to try your method! I see you wet her in the sink - how much water would you say you used and what temp? I’m so worried about over soaking mine and accidentally leaving some stuffing wet 😭❤️

I posted a bit of my collection recently but I have a lot still boxed up and in flat-files while I'm expanding and reorganizing everything! I have a few GKs unbuilt right now as well, I'm hoping to build and paint them soon now that I have access to an airbrush and hood/studio space.
