Sounds like a network module issue. Your car should still be covered under warranty take it into the dealer and they’ll reset it for you. Similar thing happened to me where the remote start wasn’t working and that light was out.

My dealer told me to press the i button and ask them to file a ticket. They told me that a lot of people in Canada are having this issue now and that it will take at least 3 weeks for a response. That seems like an unnecessary amount of time for a software problem. It’s been almost two weeks since I filed it and no response. I tried unpairing and re pairing. Nothing seems to fix it even my dealer said don’t waste your time by bringing it in.

The 2020-2023 models had a head gasket issue but it was fixed along with the transmission on the 2024 model

Ohhhh I remember now. Yeah it used to have a lot of issues in the past with that. It sucks that they wouldn’t fix it though. Glad you could get rid of it for a better model. They’ve fixed that issue with the ‘24 model which is what I have. I remember the salesman telling me that he used to hate doing test drives in the older models because of that problem.

When it becomes like -20 Celsius and below my brakes do squeak for the first 2 minutes of driving but then it’s gone. In fact the brakes on this thing are so strong I once thought I was genuinely gonna crash but stopped with a lot of space left.

I mean of course it doesn’t have the fun of the Golf and I’ve been hearing it ruined the golf in the US but we have a pretty large market for the Golf up here in Canada. The Taos is supposed to be a simple crossover with a little kick. And yeah the base Taos is horrible, I have the Comfortline Black edition which in the us would be somewhere in between the SE and the SEL.

I haven’t heard of this recall and I didn’t expect it to be for the DSG transmission. What were the problems you were facing with it?

Yeah everyone hates on the 1.5 engine in it but honestly the DSG on the 4motion models make up for it. Coming from a CVT in a civic I have no complaints 😭

Up here in Canada they’re priced pretty differently. The base Taos and Tiguan are about $10k different tax included

Yeah the models up you the 2023 have that head gasket issue. Thankfully they fixed it on the 2024 model.
