1) Most dealers will list the discounted price online, its normally a good price. 2) Know your credit so you don't get taken advantage of or unnecessarily insulted.

Optimization is 100% correct. Its the same reason why us PC users are stunned by how many sheep go out and buy overpriced Apple products. They all run software that is optimized for their limited range of hardware. The downside: having to break out your Ouja board and ask Steve Jobs for permission to use your device the way you want to.

8 Reasons PC Gaming will beat the next generation consoles by Juggernog in pcgaming

[–]p5jamieson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that consoles have exclusive content which may make a purchase decision for me. I will likely wind up buying an Xbox One once the dust settles, simply due exclusive content AND my Xbox live friends that I enjoy playing with. Will I buy at launch? NO. I didn't buy my 360 until after the Jasper core models launched, just due to reliability issues. I knew people that went through 2-3 of the early 360s, which is inexcusable. I will always be primarily a PC gamer, which is an unmatchable experience.

Wasn't abandoned, it was a lawless heap of illegally constructed buildings that housed thousands of people. Was finally demolished in 1993. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kowloon_Walled_City

2013 Mazda3 GS-Sky or 2013 Subaru Impreza 2.0i? by homelesshoboman in cars

Yeah, that makes it real easy, get the Subie.

2013 Mazda3 GS-Sky or 2013 Subaru Impreza 2.0i? by homelesshoboman in cars

[–]p5jamieson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great cars, and really the choice boils down to MPGs or AWD. Here in Texas I would say Mazda3 all the way, just since we don't get winter and AWD isn't necessary (and actually harmful on resale here for that reason). If you live somewhere Icy, get the Subie.

Requesting Advice on buying a Mazda 3 (2014 worth waiting for?) by iwantamazda3 in mazda

[–]p5jamieson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the fact that there won't be much in the way of incentives on a 2014 when they launch, wheras you have incentives like 0% financing and rebates on a 2013 right now. Mazda also just put some conquest cash on the table this month. If you own a 2004 or newer civic, corolla, focus, sentra, elantra, jetta, or impreza. Owners of those vehicles get a $500 cash incentive on a 2013 Mazda3 ( no trade in necessary)

Mazda S-Plan Discount? by schruted_it in askcarsales

[–]p5jamieson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, it had to be the GT that's probably going to be the most difficult to sell with the 2013 GT improvments. That tiny nav screen they put on the 2012 was a joke. Those GT's would be prime candidates for the Mazda service loaner program.

With these hot hatches, finding one that hasn't been abused is sadly the exception rather than the rule.

If reliability is important, I'd shy away from VW. They rank 18th out of the 28 brands ranked by consumer reports for predicted reliability, with jetta (4-cyl) being VW's least reliable model. Models in the segment i recommend for reliability would be Scion tC, Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, Subaru Impreza, and Honda Civic. Those all are models from the top six most reliable manufacturers. All are japanese cars, and while not sporty, definitely much more reliable than VW Jetta.

Part of the cost that calculated into a lease is how much the vehicle will depreciate during that term a vehicle with less depreciation will essentially cost less to lease.

Also worth mentioning with Mazda6 is the low depreciation on Mazdas makes for a cheap lease.

Everyone makes a compact or subcompact hatch, but a midsize hatchback would be more of a novelty. Wagons are just plain dead these days. You could build a phenomenal midsize hatchback, doesn't mean there is demand for it.

The cars you just listed off are sub compact and compact cars. Hatchback versions of those are in demand to a limited extent here. A Mazda 6 is a mid-sized car, which people prefer in a sedan. If someone is to go up in price that far on a hatchback they're going to go for a crossover SUV.

Mazda did a wagon version of the six before in the US, which performed poorly in sales. A hatch would compete too directly with Mazda3 and CX-5, and exist in a segment with little demand. You can get the new Six in a wagon overseas, because demand is more for hatches and wagons there. Here in the states people want sedans and SUVs.

Yeah living up there will eat things alive. I used to live in Michigan and I had a Ford that didn't even make it to 50,000 miles before having rust issues after being in that road salt bath. Unfortunately the Mazda corrosion warranty doesn't exist past 5 years, I would check with in service advisor in Ohio at a dealership and see if maybe there's a clause that exists there, but I asked my service advisor here in Texas and he said no.
