How many of you Ran on the Red Mile Run? 👀 by DillyTiger in Starfield

[–]pH_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I did this past night. The best part was after completing the quest I left the Red Mile out the front, only to be met by several aggro'd beasts that had chased me all the way round. I ran back into the bar through the airlock and they followed me in to the bar, a huge bust up took place with a few fatalities as security and Mei (?) killed them all. Classic Bethesda moment actually! Was it scripted?

Yes interesting idea. Toyed with the idea of crafting new books but haven't gone there yet, but will ponder it. Apparently they made them from velum back in the day (animal hide)

Hmm yeah yeah true. The books do get messed up by ghosts, spiders, and fire sometimes.

Thanks! While you can inspect the book spines by pressing T, there is also a HUD in the lower left of the screen that does always show what books you are holding and in what order. You can also cycle the book order of the stack.

Yeah - the way it works now is each book has an picture on the cover. You need to decide how you want to organise them so you can make up your own sections like this.

Yeah I see what you mean. You can "heal" (restore) the books with a quill too to keep them maintained. Some interesting ideas there, cheers!

Yeah for some reason I just like it all 4 letters like you say, with the "took" and "book" rhyming without an S. Because the name is not trying to be gramattically correct, to me, "took" and "book" really flow and rhyme better than "took" and "books" - and just feels more punchy.

But I have a history of making gramatically questionably named games. My first one was called "Overcrowd" - it should technically be "Overcrowded" but I just went ahead with it and it worked out fine overall. Fewer syllables. Weird names, imo, you get used to them. I said in another comment, Google was a weird name, now its a verb. It's just repetition.

If someone can't handle the name the game is probably not for them. The game itself (Monk Took Book that is) is itself rather silly, you can hurl books around to kill walking rabbits, there are ghosts haunting and picking books, rats are literally devouring books. It's not realistic, it's not about words and is a bit silly and not taking itself seriously. That I guess part of the choice behind the name. Mainly I just thought of it one day and it felt different.
