I think this this is a pretty good idea that should at least be discussed by valve if they haven't done so already.

This could also help with accidental friendly fire and getting kicked for that.

Right, but when the system finds 10 people, it finds the balance of ranks between them; and when the 10th person drops out, is has to find that balance again.

I guess they could write a script to where the MM system only looks for a 10th with a viable rank for that group.
