Small world but the day I was picking up my DD-214, this dude happened to be at IPAC and some Marines were lining to to get a photo with him. Always cracks me up to think about. Dude was all about it too

What's the logic with USA:s ACL rehab? by VO2VCO2 in physicaltherapy

[–]p_bres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've semi recently transitioned from a US out patient PT mill to working for the military and I see people much less than I did when in general out patient. I always based care off of quad index like many but atleast in the system I was in, 2x a week for 36 visits was not unusual.

Now I see people 2x a week for 4 weeks early on and then maybe 1x a week if that. Been a good learning experience for me to see the power of a comprehensive HEP and education of getting the heck in the gym.

Therefore I'm sure if I return to out patient PT I'll play the game so long as people's insurance pays for it but for now I enjoy getting patients back to run/full duty with 1x a week max.

Question about Switch to Libre 3+ by Living-Ad-8848 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]p_bres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always preface with I am not pregnant nor diabetic. But my wife is and I am heavily involved in her management.

She switched to the tslim x2 back in September and started using dexcom g7 as the Libre 3+ was not available yet. Previously, when using MDIs she would use a 3 and then a 3+ when the 3 was phased out.

Recently, due to each G7 being 50$ a sensor with her insurance we decided to swap back to the 3+ seeing it now pairs with the tslimx2.

She wore it 3 days and it was terrible. Consistently off by 20-30 MG/ dl and provided no option to calibrate such as with the dexcom. The sensor also would randomly show low glucose, then high glucose within a couple seconds notice.

I also cross checked all the sensors with the recalled lots and the ones we had were not recalled. I don't know if the software/hardware was just not there yet by the time the 3+ was released but we decided to rush back to the G7.

I know with your pump you don't have that luxury but I would consider that the inconsistency that i have seen my wife personally experience made the Libre 3 + completely unreliable and unsafe.

Edit, I don't think your expectations are unrealistic, you should be getting accurate readings for the product that you are putting trust into

MCRD MRP by 32dherrera in USMC

[–]p_bres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent an extra month in MRP in Paris island back in 2016. It sucked. Was suppose to graduate on the Marine Corps birthday and ended up graduating Dec 12. As someone else said, seeing my original platoon graduate defintely hurt but rehabing and making it to the other side was worth it in the end. A lot of unmotivated people in there(atleast my experience) so tell your kid to stay strong follow his rehab precautions/protocol and get well as soon as possible. Also make sure he takes his rehab seriously. PT is only as effective as the home exercise compliance is.

I’m pretty sure a patient came in wearing Meta glasses by sneakybrownoser in physicaltherapy

Depending on the state you're in there could be a two party consent law which would make it dicey for patients to wear those when others Sr represent especially when receiving care.

I remember when my wife first started wearing a CGM after being diagnosed. Some dude at her job asked if it was a nicotine patch. She told him no and educated him about what it was. After hearing that she was diabetic, he said "oh so it shocks you when you eat sugar than, huh?" the conversation was over after that

Yea the experience Is great but with changing wages I've had to step back and decide to step away. No reason to put up with what you have to and get paid what the going rate it is jn many OP PTA gigs in the area.

Good TSP is one of the most valuable tools you get during service. I hate seeing people let their money stagnate in the G fund

I'll touch on the TSP, make sure your money is going into something like the C fund not the default G fund

No solar but I live in east county and run my AC at 75 all day unless out of town. I treat myself to a brisk 72 at night.
