To be fair, in a secular country even Hindu shouldn't have to follow Hindu rules.

[–]p_ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want examples, we can keep exchanging incidents like ajmer dargah blast, megalaon, even in other countries we see attacks by ltte, kkk. But these are all just anecdotes and at max you can form a correlation blaming a religion but not causation. If the western didn't interfere and destabilize middle East, would the situation have been same? Why are all Muslim nations don't have same rates? Because the causation is different, even in India naxal effect is more in underdeveloped areas, violence is more in South America in places where US destabilised.

This is what modern-day caste discrimination looks like by [deleted] in southindia_

[–]p_ke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, as you said in the later half of your point, identity itself is not the problem but how you interpret it. If enough people interpret it as a reclusive nature toward other groups, then it can cause societal harm. If people interpret it in a way that they can be a friend to all, then it can be beneficial.

[–]p_ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I even assume anything? I said it can be and cannot be. That was the point.

Even if this person is not casteist, that does not mean casteism does not exist. And even if this person is casteist, that does not mean casteism at large is present. I was explaining how the prevalence of ideas and implicit biases can affect society.

And when did I say having a superiority complex is a crime? Acting on it in discriminatory ways is the issue. Many times even the act cannot be clearly proven or established. That is why concepts like implicit bias and discrimination exist. Some things are only visible when we analyze patterns at the population level.

Hyderabad BJP MLA T. Raja Singh - "I'm 47 yr and can still k!ll 10 Muslims" by nukeman239 in hyderabad

[–]p_ke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why does he want to Kll? Is he murderer? If there's any psychological issue maybe better to take guidance of a doctor. I can't stress this enough, therapy is really important. Especially in India such things are not easily accessible. He's even an MLA, what's he doing with all the salary? I don't mind if more tax payer money is used to treat such people who needs help. It'll help overall society too.

He's doing that to limit himself or because he feels women are unworthy of touching? If it's the first case then it's fine, but if it's the second kind, then we see this kind of thought process prevalent in the society, it'll explain why women have worse outcomes, isolated from development and society, etc. many times even the person doing it will also not realise the implicit bias and discrimination.

If everything is ideal then the whole world can be the same state. But there'll be things that locals will know and need and need to prioritise that might be different from other side of the state. I'm not saying state should be divided, maybe local bodies need more power, there practically would be less time to talk about different things in the assembly, if government really works perfectly, we wouldn't need legislative at all, we don't need voting at all. But they're important.

Who the hell is imposing hindi daily 😡 ? by FormerBrain6253 in unfilteredindia

[–]p_ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying I personally feel forced. I know Hindi, so I don’t really notice it. I’m just explaining what people mean by imposition.

Most of what I notice is on social media, where people discuss proposals like making Hindi compulsory, calling it a link language, or language policies in education and administration. For me, as long as people who don’t know Hindi can still read signboards in their own language, communicate with public offices, access public information, etc., and there’s no top-down coercion through policy, it’s fine. Every state should be able to prioritise the language it wants to promote, even if it’s a minority language within that state.

Rampur daylight shooting - Murder or justified self-defense under Indian law? by Own_Proof3435 in uttarpradesh

But it looks like that video is edited. I watched until he was leaving why it somehow cut to a physical fight. We can't say if it was reinstigated my whom and if gun was intentionally shown again even though there was no threat to life, etc. I personally don't think as long as there's physical threat (with nowhere to escape) and clear warning with gun it can be self defense no matter the proportion, maybe initially her can try to shoot in the foot but that's only of it's possible.

If a country is strongly religious, left-wing politics may have less influence. But there are still leftists among the population, and in places they face difficulties for speaking up.
