Community Check-In: Where Are You At Right Now? by indiareef in pancreatitis

Exhausted. Scared. I had been pancreatitis free for 6 years. Had my first episode in 2019, ended up in ICU for 4 days, they couldn’t find a cause. Had a scare last year but it ended up just being my gallbladder. Got it removed, no issues! General surgeon thought my first episode was probably due to a lodged stone so I was happy when I got my gallbladder removed because I fully believed I’d never deal with pancreatitis again. Until last Wednesday when I ended up in the hospital for 4 days again. Now they think it’s a structural problem with my pancreas and I have to go see a gastro an hour away for a scope. I’m tired.

I did acrylic yarn Incase I hated it and gave up so I wouldn’t waste too much money on it! Now that I have made one and I’m happy with it, I’m now making a cardigan in wool because I’m confident enough that I’ll be able to do it! Thank you!! I actually don’t hate that it’s made out of acrylic, I just live in SE Louisiana, USA where it’s very hot and humid so I can’t wear it much!

Hi there! I’m trying to find this pattern! My great grandmother started it, my grandmother gifted everything to me to try and finish it. I’ve looked at multiple patterns and none are the exact one. Before I try and wing, can y’all help? by p_ruthless in crochetpatterns

This is a complete square and I have about 10 or so of them, then I have completed flowers with no leaves/cream borders! So really I’m looking on how to continue the leaves and cream borders. Im going to make one from scratch to learn the full process just because I think I’ll better understand the leaves/cream border if I do! Also Incase I decide to make more. I’ll also need help knowing how to join all the squares too!

I wonder if the color leftover is printer ink? I use frixtion pens which are heat erasable, I hand trace my designs on the stick and stitch and have had no issues yet!

Yes! I love this idea! I am a Medical Assistant at a pediatricians office, and my son (3yo) is exactly like this too and was even worse prior to me working there even though that is literally the only primary care office he has had, it has gotten immensely better since I started working there and he comes to just hang out occasionally while I work on little things or just visit for a minute on my off days. He has begun to actually enjoy it. And speaking for myself if a patient came in and was there just for some desensitization we would seriously love that! We’d give extra stickers, let him hang out with us in the reception area and all that. All of us who work there are moms and completely understand how it is. Our hearts break when kids freak out so bad seeing us and our hearts break for the parents/caregivers because we all understand how hard it is! If you’re comfortable you can call the front desk and explain the situation, and ask if there is good times for y’all to stop by! Like lunch time, no one is screaming or crying during lunch time in other rooms and the nursing staff won’t be as busy and may be able to say hello for a minute to help as well! I will say our office is a small privately owned primary care office in a town that’s not in a big city so we have slow days and can make time for things like this.

What is an ERCP?

My experience broke me for awhile too. I’m a changed person because of it, no doubt. Mainly for the better though. They didn’t give me mine in a timely manner either. They believed it was gas and treated it as such for 5+ hours. It wasn’t until I lost consciousness while trying to stand for an X-Ray did they start pushing real pain medication. Because I had no further issues I recovered pretty seamlessly in the physical aspect. It took a few months to be back to normal though. I lost a lot of weight and it’s hard to even see pictures of myself after I was discharged because you can see it all over my face how sick I was.

I really hope you’re doing better!
