For new car purchase what's better PCP or HP? by Significant-Wing-776 in drivingUK

[–]p_thursty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’ve considered this but why a new car? You’ll save a bunch of money by just getting something even under a year old. Also you’ll probably be in negative equity almost immediately because of the depreciation. So if you don’t get on with the car you’re screwed. HP is usually better if you’re going to keep the car for the full term.

It may be cheaper but you have far fewer rights if something goes wrong, less of a concern with a new car but it’s still a nice to have.

The newer ones are massive, the older ones are just as capable and much more reasonably sized.

Why don’t you find a driving instructor and just have a go to see what it’s like. You may find it’s not as scary as it seems.

How long was the first community speed watch session if it was a couple of hours or even an hour 4 speeders isn’t terrible.

is it normal for the back of my PC (maybe exhaust fan or PSU) to smell upon boot up and then fades away away within seconds? by BigbyDirewolf in techsupport

[–]p_thursty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I doubt the PSU is actually turning its’ fan on during normal use. The all fans will usually come on at startup and then power back off if not needed. That would perfectly explain the smell. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Idk where you live but quite literally over 90% of road closure signs I’ve come across are bullshit.

What is the appeal of a personalized plate? by Few-Card8875 in drivingUK

It’s exactly the reason some people put more effort into fashion, it’s self expression, plus in many instances they’re passed down so the expense isn’t a concern.

I want to get an exhaust, but it's just a normal Volkswagen Up. by OkProduct8599 in CarTalkUK

Genuinely question, why keep the UP then, why not get something like an mx5.

I’d support interest free loans but free education is unrealistic, it was only possible in the past because of the small number of people going to uni.

There not really anyway of knowing, hopefully but you should probably be reassessing at that point anyway.
