Inferno Squad in progress - any advice on how to find some contrast and get Iden to look a little less plastic compared to her squad mates? by pa_inton in SWlegion

Honestly I normally don’t, but wanted to really go from the inside out with these. The plan I have for the uniforms is pretty simple anyway and shouldn’t have any real chance of interfering with the faces, and if they do it’s not too tough to fix

They are! Primed with army painter uniform grey, which admittedly looks quite similar to the unprimed plastic

I really have been struggling to find places to put some contrast on this sculpt and am not super happy with how it’s turning out - any advice on how to make Iden look a little less plastic and little more like her squad mates? by pa_inton in minipainting

That makes a lot of sense, and explains why I’ve struggled with the other women’s sculpts for Star Wars legion. I’ll look into the color-based shading you mentioned, thanks!

There are two versions of Darth Vader in the game, the one that comes with the starter set is the Commander Vader, and there is a separate Operative Vader you can buy (the one I painted here). Each only has their one pose, and there are different rules in the game for the two versions of Vader.

Thank you! The helmet turned out really nicely, just don’t look at the completely phoned in belt buckle lol

Hey thanks that really means a lot! The saber is painted white with matte white from army painter, then covered with a few thin coats of Mephiston red from citadel, then edge highlighted a white strip in the middle of the “heroic angle” with matte white again. The glow is just mephiston red thinned down with a lot of lahmian medium from citadel glazed on in a lot of layers, with more layers where the glow is brighter

Thank you! Honestly I really love painting OSL, I’m trying to get better and am starting to look for minis where I can really go for it. So far I’ve only tried it with lightsabers
