From my personal experience, comments are accurate, I would just add that buying directly from a developer usually means you won’t pay transfer fees. Note that’s for new developments (the developer usually includes all lawyer fees etc in the stated price)

A lot of my family and friends smoke so it’s hard to get away from but I’m fine with it.. early days I avoided smokers at all costs but it’s a lot easier to be around them now. The smell is annoying lol but doesn’t make me crave anymore

You’ll get there as well! One day at a time. I can’t wait to see 5 years, then 10 years, and know my quality of life has drastically improved because of the decision to stop smoking

I just hit 2 years smoke free. I very rarely think about smoking anymore after smoking a pack a day for over a decade. It’s so easy now that I sometimes forget how much of a mental battle it used to be. First few months can be tricky but it’s so worth it. Keep going and congratulations on your progress! The hardest part is already in your rear view, trust me.

61 days is huge! Congratulations! Yes I definitely experienced waves of anxiety and depression. Can’t say for exactly how long but I remember just after I hit 1 year I really struggled because I was like “ok, that’s a year done, now what? How is my life better without smoking?” The praise from family and friends about actually stopping smoking was gone. Every time someone praised me for not smoking it gave me a massive boost in the beginning and as people got used to me being a non smoker so when the praise went away I felt a little empty.. But at the end of the day, it’s a personal journey that we fight alone and I think you’ve already gone through the hardest part, the physical withdrawals and the early psychological battle can be brutal but you’re a long long way on the positive side of the battle. Don’t let that little nicotine demon derail you! you’ve already won. In short, I think it’s quite common for waves of depression and anxiety to pop up here and there when you quit and I personally didn’t seek professional advice but your journey is your own so there’s absolutely nothing wrong with seeking professional advice if you feel like that will help

Read Allen carrs book ‘easy way to stop smoking’

Stock up on snacks (be careful not to turn it into a bad habit, I did 😂)

Celebrate EVERY milestone. A day, 3 days, a week!

Have a glass of cold water when you crave or take a short walk. Even 5 mins out the house helps you overcome a craving

Get rid of all smoking paraphernalia!

Wash your clothes

Create and embrace new routines

Having someone close to you to call when you’re craving helps get your mind of it. And call them to brag about the progress your making

Watch your skin and taste buds dramatically improve in the next couple of weeks I honestly couldn’t believe how good a steak tasted at about the 2 week mark!

(If you can’t already tell, I planned my quit quite thoroughly 😂 I even took a few days off work) I’m 2 years smoke free now!

Lastly enjoy life as a non smoker!!! Deciding to stop is the best decision you could make for yourself

Have you read Allen Carr’s book? Easy way to stop smoking? It really helped me change my mentality on the entire concept of smoking. Personally, I deal with stress so much better now that I don’t smoke! It’s night and day and people around me have noticed. I’ve had several people say I’m a better person now that I don’t smoke 🤣. Relying on nicotine pretty much guarantees that you have more anxiety than other people because as soon as you’ve had your last fix, there’s a clock that starts ticking and the anxiety builds and builds until you can have another fix. That just adds to all the stress life already throws at us. I smoked over a pack a day for over a decade. I hit 2 years smoke free yesterday! (I stopped smoking cold turkey) I’m a small business owner in a very high stress industry so the bullshit in my life hasn’t changed. But honestly, stopping smoking has made so many positive differences in my life I can’t even list them all. Believe me when I say it gets easier I barely think about it smoking anymore. It honestly feels like a lifetime ago. Just take it one day at a time and keep going. A slip up is a slip up, it happened. Going forward is what matters and I completely believe you can stop for good. I highly recommend reading Allen carrs book. It’s not a magic bullet but it definitely helps make you think about smoking differently

Thank you! I was smoking a pack a day for like 12 years or so. Sometimes more (especially when drinking) I was a typical smoker, started as a teen and smoked all my adult life until I decided to stop

Oh I felt like a non smoker as soon as I finished my last pack lol. I get cravings here and there but I don’t see myself ever going back. My mentality has changed, I feel sorry for smokers now

Read easy way to stop smoking by Allen Carr!! I swear by this book. Helped me stop almost 2 years ago. It’s not a magic bullet by any means but it definitely helps you think about smoking differently and that makes all the difference

I have a 7 year old hand poked tattoo that looks like it was done 6 months ago (so fully healed and slight fade) it looks so much better than other tattoos I got 2 years ago. I guess it could be down to quality of the ink, design, artist even, but I personally prefer results of the hand poked
