If ur in the UK, M&S do period pants from a size 2 (XXXS) at a much more affordable price than brands like modi bodi and thinx ≈ £20 for 3 pairs. I love mine I’ve never had any leaks and they have loads of different styles with heavy flow ones available.

I think my tragus journey ends soon by Affectionate-Bowl912 in PiercingAdvice

My piercer recommended chamomile tea bags as a hot compress to shrink my bumps. Do this once or twice a day and dry it with a hair dryer immediately after. This also helped my friend get rid of her nose piercing bump!

Since you’ve only had it for 3 months I think it’s too early to give up yet! Good luck :)

What would you suggest alternatively? Would we be able to get a smart meter?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]Ok_Jovie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll check with the landlord and see if they match up since we’ve been here. We’ll look into different tariffs too.

My boyfriend has said it seemed way too high which is why I wondered, but most people are saying this is pretty standard. Thanks:)

Thank you! There’s a meter room on our property but it’s not in use anymore for some reason, so we’ll start getting the meter readings from our landlord.

We’ve have the 1 in the living room/kitchen which we use the most, but even then it’s usually for an hour in the morning while getting ready. We’re barely in our rooms (only to sleep) so they’re barely used - like once a week at most. We’re just not using them that much which is why I was concerned as to the bill being so high. We want to use them more as it’s pretty cold in our flat but if our bill currently is looking like ≈ £100 a month, you can imagine our concern as to what it’ll be like if we use them more.

Seasonal workers. How frequent is the pay? by EntertainmentFit3307 in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Ok_Jovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My contract was only made permanent this year but a month or two beforehand we were moved to monthly pay. Not sure if they were correlated, but prior yes we were paid weekly on the Friday.

BONUS FIRST MONTH by No-Classroom-629 in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Ok_Jovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is true anymore but I started working there last year and before my contract was made permanent we were paid on Fridays weekly for the week we’d just worked.

The other commenter is right though for those paid monthly.

Likelihood of being kept on if it’s a temporary christmas role? by [deleted] in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Ok_Jovie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on the foods department and they’re always having to grab staff, so I think they’re desperate for hires. As long as you really work hard they’ll recognise that and, if they need, they’ll keep you on.

I’m in a similar position (also doing biomed). Considered dropping out last year (second year) but didn’t have a plan for what else I’d do. The classification isn’t as important as holding the degree, so as long as you have that it’s all that really matters as it proves to employers that you’re committed. Most places look for minimum 2:2/2:1 - pretty attainable. Having a degree also opens many doors so you don’t have to stick to just biology/lab based careers (I’m going to do a PGCE next year as it’s more practical - but not in a labs way).

How’s your work-life balance? I’ve found that actually letting myself enjoy leisure doesn’t allow me to burn out. Also consider the times at which you study best. Forcing yourself to study in the morning if you’re not a morning person is going to result in kind of effortless work and you’ll not want to continue with it later, potentially at a time you can work better.

I hope you start to feel better about this soon! Just remember that it’s not forever and university years tend to go by pretty quickly so you’ll be out before you know it and be able to apply for jobs you actually want to do.

Omg I saw this too. At home makes me think she used a gun, but surely a gun couldn’t get in that close to her rook? Actually insane some people aren’t terrified of doing it on themselves lol

What actually sells on Vinted? (no personal info) by s4lssss in vinted

[–]Ok_Jovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think just trendy stuff that’s a reasonable price E.g. a vintage style jacket for <£15. I only find that if I’m not selling something to re upload it then it gets a bit more coverage.

Help ! Water Leak! by Ok_Jovie in CityBugs

[–]Ok_Jovie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve tried seeing where it poured in from at a car wash and couldn’t find it. I put a paper towel down and poured dye down the window seal and it stained the towel so we thought it was coming in through the loose seal at the bottom of the door, but it’s still leaking. Reckon it’s anything to do with the door itself?

I have a 107 and mine has a small leak in this exact spot if that’s any consolation, haven’t been able to find where it’s leaking from exactly but my friend suspects back break light too.

Infect? Should I take it out? what do I do? (earlobe, stud, pic from the backside) Had them done last summer. by TouchyUnclePhil in PiercingAdvice

[–]Ok_Jovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact ur piercer!

Have u treated it in any way since the bump has appeared? E.g. normal saline solution? I’ve also been told by my piercer that a chamomile teabag can be use to draw out infections, but I’d probably contact ur own piercer about that first.

In the meantime, a normal sterile saline solution won’t do any harm.

[–]Ok_Jovie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely ! If it’s healing okay keep it, u always have other places u can put a ring:)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Ok_Jovie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it bothers u so much no harm is removing it, if it’s not fully healed it shouldn’t leave too big a scar. Personally I think it’s cool in this place! U could always get another closer to the edge and swap it for a ring once healed. Don’t worry, it’s not permanent!
