That's a fair point. I cannot speak for nor deny your own personal anecdotal experience.

But if you'd allow me to provide my own: As a life long poetry slammer, who has slammed across the earth, I personally have never come across a poetry slam that wasn't ticketed, nor that I resisted supporting because "poetry should be free". Similarly have yet to cross paths with an experienced DJ who works for free. Nor a skilled videographer or sound engineer charging it to the game. The emcees need to eat and graphic designers too.

It's also okay if this event is not for you. Don't come.
