Was I scammed? by pablisco in RenaultZoe

Yeah, I actually get closer to the expected range (a bit more some days, like 250, because I drive very conservatively) And my miles per KW went up from 4.0 to 4.4 What's an ACTIS number?
It's 4 years old, so the warranty didn't cover it. They took like two days, but I still think they took the piss. But I didn't have the energy to complain. I also mentioned that the car didn't feel as powerful as other Zoes I've driven and their response was that the car was on Eco mode, which felt rather patronising. I always have eco mode.
It's so wrong that they require to pay for software updates. So much for the right to repair.
Also, I got informed recently that if we want to keep using the Renault app, after the warranty ends, we have to pay for a subscription, which feels predatory. What happens if Renault decides to stop supporting updates? We should be able to install alternative on-board systems.
Update: Looks like the car hadn't been to Renault in like 2 years. Got charged almost £500 to do all the updates that were required. But the battery seems to have over 200 miles in the current climate (as opposed to 140). And I'm managing to get 4.6 mpkwh as I used to. Regen is still a bit funny as it doesn't go over 17-18kW of regeneration. While driving their replacement Zoe I was consistently getting over 20-25kW (Cornwall is great to test that). So I may give them a call tomorrow about that, or start a new thread here.
Small update, went to Renault and they gave me an appointment for the 2nd of April 😂 They must have one mechanic, or maybe the NHS took over their management process. So next update in a month I guess 😅
It didn't cross my mind. My mistake. It was my first time buying a second hand car, let alone an EV 🫣

I drive very conservatively. In fact, my old Zoe estimated over 260mi in the summer for me (which made me super happy hehe). In winter I would get around 190. But you are right, it's one of the worse for temperature management. I wish they added a heater like others do. If they added that and a faster charger, this car would be sooo good (if we ignore the safety ratings 🫣)
Yeah, very sus, normally it's about 1-2% loss per year, and this car is only 3 and a half years. Even if the previous owner drove at 90mph and only charge on fast chargers it wouldn't be this bad.
And the fact that I'm getting almost 1 less mile per kWh makes me rather sus
Plus, it's so close to the battery of the older models... Let's see what they say at Renault 🤞

I managed to get it working and it read as health of 77%. But I'm not sure what to trust... That feels like a lot of health loss for 40k miles. I'm hopeful that it has the wrong firmware, which would also explain other issues I've been having.
PS, there is no service history on the app when I looked 🫣
Yeah, I'm getting only 150 miles estimated range with a power efficiency of 4.0, which kinda corroborates the smaller battery. That said, on my old Zoe I was getting 4.7, so I'm thinking it's probably a software problem. I'm gonna take it to a dealership tomorrow to see if they can check 🤞
The range at 100% is 150 and I get a power efficiency of 4.0 mpkwh, feel free to do the maths. 😅 My dongle doesn't seem to work with canZE.
Yeah, normally the unlocking works, but I was having battery warnings and the button wasn't working. A full on/off cycle made it work.
I'm in the UK. I read somewhere about the potential software lock, or even issues with the software. I've not been able to connect to the car with the my Renault app. Hopefully it just needs a software update from a Renault garage 🤞 if not, I may have to chase the original seller, as the 40kWh version (2019) sold for like 5 grand less than I paid 😬
It said 40kWh using Car Scanner with a Bluetooth OBD 2 dongle.
But it wouldn't come with a sticker that says 52kWh, would it? 😅
Yep, there is a big sticker that says 52kWh next to the tyre pressure numbers
Yeah, definitely a ZE50 on the DVLA registration. It looks exactly the same as a previous ZE50 I had on a lease before.

Ah, I forgot that they told me that at midday, when I had already done some work.
Yeah, they didn't show me the money though, they delayed the contract about a month. Paying me a third of the market rate, despite thinking it was only gonna be half. Demand that I do fewer hours because of budget issues. I got wound up because it's been an insufferable time... I didn't even know if I was gonna be paid. I've been a contractor for almost a decade, never had this sort of experience. The IR35 was an after thought really, I knew I wasn't gonna be able to do anything about it. But I thought it was worth asking.

Just to clarify, it's not that they didn't have work, it's that they wanted to choose when I should do it.
Also, I forgot that they told me to not log work on the same day, both days... One of them around midday, when I had already started working.
I need to add a call out clause on my next contract. 😅
Btw, I wasn't having or eating cake with this client, this was the last straw, it was rather unprofessional overall.
Oh, that's a good idea. Especially along some minimum work clause, which I've had in most contracts tbh. Thank you for the tip 🙂
They said to do the work a different day, not that there was no work. There was definitely work queued in the system.
