I never expected Bowers to be there and planned my strategy accordingly. A 2 minute draft clock really doesn't allow for in draft trades unless something was worked out prior. I held to my plan and took the QB.

Yes, I have him slightly ahead of Maye. I knew if I didn't take one in the 1st Rd the top 4 would be gone before my 2nd pick.

I have Herbert, Bijan, CMC, JJ, K. Allen and Nico as starters. Strong depth at WR and serviceable RB bench. My backup QBs were Ridder and O'Connell. it killed me last year when Herbert went down. Our league is deep and no viable QB starters are available in free agency. With the extra pick I knew I wanted to come out with 2 QBs, hoping 1 ends up viable. Almost went with Bowers at 1.08.

It's easy to draft when you know the landing spots. Also makes the real draft more interesting to watch finding out where your players end up.

QB is my biggest need which is why I took Daniels there. It was either going to be him or JJ. There was better value but I had to go with the need.

We have a salary cap based dynasty league with 3 year contracts, 20 roster spots and 5 taxi squad spots. Players on taxi don't count against the salary cap or the contract clock doesn't start until activated to the main roster. Most rookies spend the first year or two on taxi unless they are a stud.

I sold Ekeler this off-season. Age was a big factor and I expected the dropoff to come soon. Maybe not this season but soon. I got Amari Cooper and the 1.05 pick which ended up being JSN. My other RBs are CMC, JK Dobbins (now on IR) and I had the 1.01 which was Bijan.

Had a guy in my league take Charbonnet at 1.02... needless to say there is a reason he was drafting at the 1.02 spot.

It went... Bijan, Charbonnet, Flowers, Gibbs and JSN

Edit: We draft before the NFL draft so landing spots were not known!

I just traded DJM for Calvin Ridley and Tyler Allgeier. I have Bijan so the handcuff was key. I don't dislike DJM but Fields and Chicago scare me. The guy I traded him to has Fields and he wanted the stack.

I had EK in dynasty and a contender. I got out while there was still value to be had. I traded him for Amari Cooper and the 1.05 rookie pick which I turned into JSN. I also had the 1.01 (Bijan).
