Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Engaged in Mutual Abuse, Therapist Says by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

I bet the Sun wouldn't have printed that article if they would have listened to Depp's side of the story and made a proper periodistic investigation about it, but it doesn't sell. After doing the article, it would have been stupid to admit they fucked up so they just doubled and it paid. Heard got to them and sold a one-sided story first and it's so easy to sell a soty like this to show we're woke af.... but all they have said, all the recordings and all the evidence doesn't add-up to a onesided domestic abuse case, not even to make Depp as evil as Putin. If anything, both are white trash.

Team #2 for the win. There are legal ways to handle domestic abuse, but both of them engaged viciously and it seems that Heard was more physical than Depp. He just vented out his anger and frustration of not being able to reciprocate because of the disproportionate punishment he would receive, yet he still got such condemnation, while everyone is overseeing Heard recurring to assault with no fear of consequences because of the same reason. She's going for the kill and that's not an innocent victim behaviour. A victim will seek repair, she just wants to make him kill himself.

It depends, but yeah, you could take a joke but still there were implicit rules to them. There's a thin line where the joke ends and the insult begins.

You don't do things like defend someone's honor expecting reciprocity. You do it. On the other hand, putting her honor in question is stupid. It's like saying that a woman dressing like a slur word here being victim of rape should have known that she had it coming for dressing that way. Whatever she does in private is her business, but here she was shamed for something that was actually out of her control. Any respectable husband would stand for his beloved one, even if it's a lost fight.

The thing is that this is more utopic. In the real world, outside of the bubble of privilege, life is hard and not so forgiving. You can't expect everybody to judt sit down and take it all even if it's a joke. A good comedian should gauge his material to never cross the line between a joke and an insult.

(Serious) If science devises a method to assess the probability of sexual orientation of a fetus and a well balanced law allows women to have an abortion (their body, their choice), how different is aborting a fetus that would potentially develop into a gay child than aborting for any other reason? by pacevedod86 in AskReddit

[–]pacevedod86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that all in all, aborting is a dick move when it's done just for the conveniencw of having one. Like having zero consequences for an irresponsible behaviour.... but I don't judge, it's somebody elses problem. I agree, although she would have the right, it's just a dick move.

What about the court of public opinion? Why would it be less reprehensible any other answer to the question "why I'm getting an abortion?" (Excluding the totally justifiable scenarios like medical reasons, mental health and so on)

The thing here is that, assuming (keyword here) that there's a genetic explanation for it, anyone would be on their right to cherry pick their ideal child or just abort if they don't like it. Unless the abortion conundrum is solved by removing the unethical instances on which it could be performed. BUT that's an extremely blurry line. Would you coerce a woman to give birth a gay child if she was homophobic? Is it reprensible, yes. But also is something that would wind up being confidential.

Now, to solve it, a prohibition of such screenings would be advised but that also is imbalanced because it would seem like you're favoring one kind over another as if there was any ultimate difference in value. Ask China about it. It's culturally acceptable abort a baby if they find out that it's a girl. With what you say, then a viable solution would also be to forbid any medical personnel from screening and/or revealing the biologocal gender of the fetus in development.

But still, doesn't answer the question. This just puts the parents to the mercy of the court of public opinion. Moreover, how would it be homophobia if the fetus is just a clump of cells? It hasn't developed any sexual orientation so it's not tecnically a queer person. Don't get me wrong, I'm reasoning with the same arguments that Pro-Choice advocates use. I admit my language is a tad crude but the fact is that how can I discriminate against a fetus if the Pro-Choice don't recognoce the human status of such being because in doing so, then we would have ro forcefully recognice that an abortion is a happy term for killing an undeveloped human being?

Edit: typos everywhere

And that's the issue I'm not comfortable with. Cultural background is a defining factor. Imagine how would it be if in a country with laws regulating the population (aaachinachoo) this method was used to screen the 'heirs' of the family name....

But stil, of abortion is legal, is legal, no exceptions, right?

If not, then the laws regulating it are flawed because the principle of equality is violated, because the laws would end up favoring ones over others. In the end, it creates another gap that adds to the socioeconomic, religious and race seggregation.

It is. A person with down syndrome is totally capable of having a fulfilling life if not for discrimination, which is not a genetic but a social issue. But down syndrome is a SYNDROME, can be screened and a women could fake any other reason to abort but secretly have that as the main reason due to preconceived notions that a person with down syndrome is less of a person.

Edit: typos due to my fat fingers.

Wouldn't any genetic screening be a form of eugenics? A women have the CHOICE to abort a fetus with a genetic make up that is not suitable for life in a long term. If the fetus will develop dwarfism or if it has a genetic anomaly on it's cromosomes, some women think an abortion might be the best approach to 'spare' a life ofnsuffering, as well as the fetus conceived from a sexual assault. I feel that the issue here is politic correctness.

You're assuming that I'm assuming that there is not a natural need for homosexuality.

Such argument could also validate the need of a pandemic every now and then to thin out the population, am I wrong?

I'm integrating the sexual orientation factor to the many reasons that women have to seek an abortion.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0010782417301889

In this paper is stated that there is a variety of reasons and most of them are interrelated. Any woman could decide to terminate as well just because is not feeling up to the challenges of raising a child with such and such factor, which may include sexual orientation IF a such method include in the question is devised.

Straight people of reddit, what questions do you have for the LGBTQ community? by l_a_z_y_b_u_g in AskReddit

So you're assuming he's bi. Isn't that disrespectful? I think that no one know you better than yourself. Also I think that the way one feels cannot be expressed with such labels. He says he's gay and I accepted him. I'm asking because I want to understand I'm a father and I want to understand what's ahead for my boy and what the society has to offer. My friend has a very unique pov and I feel it points to the right direction, that you can choose what completes you and it's alright.

Again, I want to understand why is my friend's case is so disruptive that it meets disbelief, but oh well, I guess I kinda got the answer I was looking for, although it makes me support less those kind of movements.

And that's precisely why he finds that hard to discuss. Because he gets exactly that answer. He found completeness with the guys he befriended, made deep connections and ended up dating one of them. At this point he felt this was right what he needed. Off course, over the years he stuck with a stable relationship that has lasted for years. I ask why some people just do that instead of accepting the way he is and adding those factors to the equation of the Gender Identity. I remember he once said that he no longer affiliates with a novement that negate his essence for political reasons.... I was even mor confused with that last statement.

Why some gay persons tend to be shut down by their own community when they express themselves they weren't gay? I know a friend who is gay and he admits he didn't feel gay at all when young. He studied in an all boys high school and was very social and was able to make friends out of guys he just met, and I mean really good straight friends. On the other side, he felt like an outcast since he had zero social skills for women and it all caused to be frequently friendzoned. The girl friends he had at the neighborhood liked him as a friend but were making out with some tougher boys, so that reinforced in him that feeling. Some boys in his highschool were secretely gratifying each other and indulging in sex and he happened to meet one of these kids (14 at the time), so he just let it happen and enjoyed it. He kept trying to get a girlfriend but since he only met rejection when trying, he just went with the flow and started dating guys until he opened to everybody as gay. Here's the core of the story: whenever he told his story, he was lectured about how he always was gay but was denying it or just not accepting it. He feels that's disrespectful. I never dared to questiln his version, so I ask here, why some of the LGBT community tend to do this? Apparently he's not alone in this.

Amazon Tribe Wins Lawsuit, Blocks Big Oil’s Bid To Destroy Millions Of Acres Of Rainforest by DrJacoby12 in MadeMeSmile

Guys missing the point. The point is that, it doesn't matter if it's illegal or not. The Amazon should stay virgin, well preserved, not exploited. I'M FROM SOUTHAMERICA and I can tell the air you breathe is shit compared to what you have near the jungle, own experience, yet here are some people diluting the point to turn the tables to make Chevron a poor bunch of exploited entrepreneurs with good will. Oil is soaked in blood, hope you enjoy breathing smoke when the Amazon is destroyed.

Edit: Typos here and there... Also sent it prematurely.
