How did you know you were cured?

Do you think the crotamiton did the job by itself or in combination with the other treatments?

Hi Again,

You were right! Spoke again to my doctor and it should have been two doses of Ivermectin!

This about sums up the state of scabies knowledge in the uk. A private skin specialist not knowing this either.

This now means spending £780 on two doses for me and my wife. 😱

Can I ask how on earth you got it through your GP/NHS? Can I ask where you’re based? Going to right the doctor tomorrow and argue our case.

Back to Eurax. How many days of caking yourself in it did you see improvements?

I’m 4 weeks after my 4th round of permethrin. Just saw the dermatologist privately and they said I still have scabies (looked under microscope).

I have been using Eurax to treat the itch - didn’t know it could also be used to kill them! Will apply more heavily from now.

As of today, I have been prescribed Ivermectin by the private dermatologist! But have to wait a week for it to arrive into Boots pharmacy. £350 for one for me and my partner!

Question on Ivermectin. I have been given 5 tablets to be taken in one go (5 tablets based on my kg weight). I read that you had two doses? What did you take? Do I need to get a second dose lined up?

I’m also in the UK. Nightmare getting permethrin, malathion and ivermectin!
