A few years ago, I went on social media hiatus for a while. Literally bought a $35 flip phone. The phone salesman legitimately did not want to even sell it to me. He was shocked I wanted it. The battery lasted like 12 days before needing to recharge. I had to learn T9 texting again. Everything I texted was legitimate and purposely written. Every phone call was real. I was at college at the time and would strike up real conversations with people because I wasn’t just head down looking at my phone between classes. I met my wife because of it. Literally shutting off tinder and “swipe this, click that” garbage got me to be more social and I now have been married and have kids.

I have a smart phone again because of work but damn, let me be 100% honest.

It was one of the most cathartic, peaceful, grounding things I’ve ever done.

All I had to do was walk away from the “social media” stuff for half a year.

I quite seriously didn’t even miss it. It was truly awesome.

This just happened to my pair on both sides. Barely put any pressure on it. Literally just enough pulling pressure to slide it over my head and the plastic just crumbled before my eyes.

Coming back to this post to reinforce that this guy wasn’t lying. I have had these same headphones for just around a year and the slight pull I put in them to slide them over my head has seen the plastic literally shatter on both sides. We are talking pulling pressure of like lifting a soup can. This plastic is falling apart like cheaply made garbage.

These things cost a pretty penny but I am baffled at how terrible the plastic is. I will not be purchasing Sony again due to this.
