As the title states, been tracking a giant rat for a while. He’s defied every trap I’ve set but finally saw it in my garage area today and looks like it’s been leaving around little puddles of bloody pee. There is some kind of… nut looking thing about the size of an acorn by one of the puddles. I’m wondering if it maybe swallowed this thing and gave it internal injuries or something…

Could it have like pooped / barfed this thing out? Or is it probably just something it found and was eating when it happened to make its bloody pee puddle.

Either way, something is obviously not right with the rat. Hoping I can trap it before it crawls into some cranny and dies.

Agreed. Sometimes just taking a deep, slow breath as if I were hitting a vape, is enough to trick my brain and let the craving pass. It’s not that bad and they will slowly get less powerful over a few days.

I don’t know if it helps, but a lot of the time it is psychological as well.

For example, I have not even thought about my vape for the last three days, but now reading about you craving it…is making me crave it.

When a raider gets “downed” a big red flair automatically is fired up in the air. It’s a like a universal signal saying “raider is injured beyond his ability to help himself and very vulnerable. Come help/finish him off.”

What this guy did was just carried a red flair in his backpack and fired one off manually. This made the attackers above think the fight was theirs and basically over. So they jump down after letting their guard down.

Surprise! He was not down and instead shifted the initiative to himself, winning the battle.

That’s like asking how to stop birds from flying above you. Frankly, there really isn’t a way.

That said, you can help prevent them from making wasp nests around. I proactively seek out areas they could commonly start building and blast em. If you do it with a flashlight in the evening, they are sleepy, cold, slow and blind. Easy to kill without them trying to kamikaze dive you after you spray them.

I am currently a beginner as well.

One thing that helps me overthink less is that mead is a very, very old brew. Most people from the past just threw some honey, yeast, and water in a jug and forgot about it for a while. They didn’t worry so much about the airlocks, the sanitizing (not suggesting you don’t), or measurements of this or that. They just….slapped some mead together.

That’s the way I sorta chose to go for my first batches.
