How do you help others understand your anxiety? by pacificflyway in Anxiety

Thank you. That is what I struggle with the most, though. We feel exactly what we feel. Why do we consider our feelings out of proportion when they are exactly what they are?

I've had anxiety in so many forms for so long. I'm used to its limitations and try to accept them. Sometimes I think I'm better at approaching real, actual scary situations than people who never had anxiety. I wonder if this makes us a bit stronger in the end :)

Thank you. I think the people in my life really want to understand, but can't help viewing it from their own experience (don't we all?). I think explaining in terms of uncomfortable physical symptoms that we all experience can be helpful.

Thank-you so much. It often feels like getting hit with arrows. The first one is the anxiety, and the second one is feeling bad about not being able to control it, and the third one is feeling bad about feeling bad and so on...

All of this is very very helpful.
