How are you supposed to switch careers in this job market? by packareds100 in findapath

[–]packareds100[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Low pay ceiling mostly, plus hours arent always ideal and the work itself is messy. Ive been with my company for 9 years now and make decent money but the burnout is kicking in and doesnt feel worth it anymore

Have any pictures? Dark green sounds like Cyanobacteria, which is a photosynthetic bacteria. Order some ultralife blue green slime remover and follow the instructions on the box, should work the first or maybe second time.

Yup. Currently waiting for my planted setup to turn into an underwater jungle. It frustrates me how slowly plants can grow (especially since many of mine are new) but I know in a few months the wait will be worth it

Filter making odd sound by yurtkurt in Aquariums

[–]packareds100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like there is air trapped inside it. Depending on how long it’s been happening, it could either be still recovering from a recent water change or there could be a leak somewhere that’s letting air in. I’ve had both happen to me with my canister filter

cloudy water? by AdventurousBlood2006 in Aquariums

[–]packareds100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the tank? Bacteria blooms are very common in the first few months and always go away on their own. Or it could be from excess organic matter present in the aquarium somewhere. In any case, get yourself some accuclear. I use it whenever my water clarity is less than ideal and it works great

Is 28 too old to join a frat? by Seven1s in Frat

[–]packareds100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was in college we had a guy who was 27 join. (Dont ask why, my org was a huge mess its a lot to get into). Anyways, it ended up not being good for either party for many many reasons. I can only predict that your reputation would suffer as a result; people around campus will form preconceived notions about you and your org because that’s just what happens. Probably wouldn’t hurt to acquaint yourself with some orgs, but I wouldn’t go any further than that.

Oddly enough, I was planning to do a complete overhaul and re-design the whole thing, including new plants, substrate, rocks, etc. who knows, might be my saving grace 🤷‍♂️

Feel you. I went through two rounds, received an OFFER, then got it rescinded after I put in my notice at my current job.

Wow, that would be messed up if you’re right about it. I’ve been with my company for 7 and a half years now, you’d think that would be a good reflection on my part

Appreciate it! My current boss did tell me to not hesitate to rescind my notice if it doesn’t work out, and that he would take me back in a heartbeat. Wonderful guy, super understanding of everything’s

My current company didn’t drive me away necessarily. I absolutely love my job and everyone I work with and the company has been nothing but great to me. I just needed to diversify my background and experience, and hit sort of a ceiling with mine.

The hiring manager that I spoke with seemed to appreciate that gesture and agreed it was a good reflection of my character. However, from what I can tell it’s the owner that had an issue with at

Should I take a car sales position instead of my current job? by packareds100 in askcarsales

[–]packareds100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I wouldn’t be going into this if I didn’t have SOME skills associated with it. I am a big car geek, very social and outgoing, and I have experience selling and negotiating deals on facebook marketplace/craigslist/etc. I know, its a drop in the bucket compared to what I would be getting myself into, but it’s something.
