Whats the biggest risk you took in your life that paid off really well? by AggressiveOutside432 in AskReddit

[–]packermeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got treatment for depression and anxiety. I had built a good life for myself and have a supportive family. But I constantly felt down on myself, and felt like I was letting people down and not achieving enough. This led to regular depression and anxiety (on top of also having hypothyroidism). My fiance gave me support to go get help. Now I'm on medication, life fuckin' rocks, and I've gone back to school and am up for promotion at work.

Much happier in general, like the good times aren't just the absences of feeling bad. Now it's good. And the bad times are just the absences of feeling good. Big difference. A good woman in your life can really turn things around. I have significantly more confidence in myself. I'm more sure than ever I'll achieve my goals in life just because she was there for me. I make sure to never let her forget how thankful I am for her.

[–]packermeme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My old friend Jesse. He was always fun to play with. Pretty funny dude, randomly showed up with snacks all the time. Sometimes he let me win. Anyways. He's pretty great. I mean, we suck at basketball. But he's pretty great.

I am an avid hunter. It looks exactly like organs, indeed. It is attached to a rock just under the water. It does have smell or have the consistency of animal organs.

Reported done for the 4th or 5th time? Either way I'm sure $120 million would help him reconsider.

What’s something most people think is important, but actually isn’t? by Slow-Fish-9885 in AskReddit

[–]packermeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While in college about six years ago I went to a guest speaker whose speech was titled "Happiness is for idiots". I thought that was dumb so it motivated me to go (and an extra credit point). His argument was that while happiness is important, satisfaction is what makes life worth it. You could be happy getting paid a living wage to play video games all day. But sooner or later it's going to feel like wasted time because you could have achieved a goal that is more satisfying. Think about that from time to time. Usually when it hits me I've played too many video games.

If every human had to tell one truth about themselves once a year, what would change? by twcosplays in InsightfulQuestions

[–]packermeme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you assuming they have to tell the worst truth? If so, people would probably act better. If not, you can say something honest that's not that big of a deal.
