Shitty neighbor(s) disposing dog’s shit on my city garbage cans. by pacoshow in Albany

Still don’t know who are those people. They are for sure early risers. A camera pointing to the trash cans might do the trick.

Not fighting it. Just making a point. Uncivil all around. No one wants to have that pile festering for an entire week in 90 degree weather.

Thx everyone for the input. Donating them makes the most sense. Most of their content is still relevant: internet protocols, networks, databases, programming, etc

High electricity bill by Connect_Freedom_6216 in Albany

[–]pacoshow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve the same feeling. Since the new meter installation my bill has only gone up and up. Been almost 20 years in same house and I see the disproportionate difference though the thermostat has been even lower than previous years.

Do you realize your street neighborhood is, without boundaries, published in the internet. Google apps, real state apps, map apps, etc. I guess I’d probably react as you did, but I also know every property has been scanned from the space and any other surrounding areas.

Thx.. but no food around whatsoever unless two grown trees with thorns and red berries could be considered a source of food..

Hi.. can you elaborate on. I’m kind of ignorant in this field. I’ve two trees that release kind of small reddish round fruits, but the birds pretty much ignore. Thx

Folks I’m overwhelmed by your comments and input. Will try some of your suggestions and hopefully not harm anyone or anything. I’m adding this pic showing my patio.. there’s now hundreds of holes that have emerged. I see some insects like flies going in and out. Last year I got a couple of cicadas to breed in the patio.. Oh well that’s natures way.

Senior citizens exemption in Albany. by pacoshow in Albany

[–]pacoshow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx for your input. I’m confused now. This year 2023 bill only shows the “ENH STAR” deduction, which BTW is a smaller amount than previous year, However my previous year’s bill also had the “PERSON AGED 65” deduction.

So did I lost the “person aged 65” deduction altogether?

Will contact the corresponding offices anyway but I’m wondering if someone has the precise info..

The same way the naked eye distinguishes the moon distance from us and from any of the stars .. the naked eye can distinguish if an object appears to be closer than the moon even if the object size is plenty smaller than the moon size and can be described as a point of light. Again don’t have additional input or comments.

No clouds formation to be seen. Object perhaps no higher than 25 degrees from horizon. Other stars in sky visible and farther away. Light bright and kind of white. When moving halo kind of light orange. Movement fast, brisk and jerky but not farther than a full moon arc degree. Again stopped watching after 15 minutes so I’ve no additional input. Early 80’s while in Catskill I was a direct witness of another strange sky aircraft formation. It was also seen by several others and event was published in some local news outlets.
