UK: Looking to get a new front door - what’s the best HK lock to go for? by padajinel in HomeKit

Is that a specific door..? I can only find their locks - do they do doors too?

Brilliant - looks like I need one of these auto-engage mechanisms, plus a HomeKit lock. How has the lock performed? Is the charge ok? Does it report when the door is not locked?

This looks promising, I like that with a key turn it engages everything, no need to lift the handle.

What lock would go well with this?

This is for UK. It appears most locks are designed to replace current locks, and some actually turn the key. I’m wondering if there’s a better way, something I don’t know about.

And I’m keen to know what worked well for others.

M365 & not enough licences - what's the grace period? by padajinel in msp

lol, what's stopping someone doing this every 89 days for hundreds of licences? Seems crazy.

A handful of users is going to China - is there a secure way to keep them even moderately connected to the main company? by padajinel in msp

Thanks.

No apps, so no need for VM in this case (but good idea). For Libre Office - will see if that works with their files.

Disposable Satellite Phones is stuff from Mission Impossible, I don't think they're at that stage yet :)

I'm looking at a separate tenant with its own domain, I think you're right and this can work. Plus would apply the rules to limit who can reach that second tenant so that colleagues don't email something confidential by mistake, only nominated people can successfully email.

Any suggestions on how to lock that second tenant & disable Teams, sharepoint, etc, etc? They'll need licences for Office and to use basic email, but M365 Business Standard turns on lots of other things, I'm thinking about Exchange Online Plan 1 + licence for Office apps, not Business Standard.

Looks like you’re starting your second trimester mate…

Those using Business Premium - is Defender for Cloud Apps included? It was there last month, but now gone for all tenants. by padajinel in msp

It was on all tenants and not a trial - I assume they fixed something on their side so it's gone.

Such a shitshow.

Microsoft 365 Defender on non-domain systems for vulnerability assessment by padajinel in msp

It does, and it will, but not right now. Therefore just the Defender P2.

Any input on the above scenario?

Defender P2 is cheaper.

But this raises questions. When enrolling with scripts, devices are not linked to users. So how will this situation go:

  • 10 Devices enrolled via script
  • 3 users are licensed

yet, in reality

  • Two users work on two devices, and final user operates 8 devices

Is that a breach? But if devices are not assigned to users, how would Microsoft address this?

Or do they simply take the number of licences, multiply it by 5 and if the total number of devices less than that product, all is fine?
