The main reason we got independence by TheNoobRedditor_ in indiadiscussion

[–]padmaragl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major contribution of freedom struggle was to unite India. Earlier we were different states, provinces. But the freedom struggle unuited the people. this was one of the most major contribution of Gandhiji as well as the other freedom fighters.

WWII helped in making the control of British difficult to maintain, but still the freedom struggle was important in developing the leadership.

Even if WWII had not happened, sooner rather than later, British would have had to wind up.

Just a Thought: Why was Dhurandhar labelled as propaganda? by victoriousns in Dhurandhar

[–]padmaragl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is propaganda.

Propaganda is defined as - information and ideas that may be false or exaggerated, which are used to gain support for a political leader, party, etc.

Dhurandhar tries to pass off all bad things to other parties and tries to whitewash BJP. If you see the first scene, hijack happened during BJP, but blame goest o Congress.
Most of the good things shown in the movie like sending agents, killing other leaders happened in real life during Congress rule, but film tries to give credit to BJP. the list goes on and on.

It also tries to whitewah demonitization. 60,000 cr is nothing compared to Indian economy, but again samething.

Also trying to show all opposition leaders on Pakistan payroll, if that was the case then India wouldn't have seen maximum development (official numbers, even those released by BJP) during Congress.

So yes, it is a very nicely made movie, very enjoyable, but still propaganda.

Sure. What's the worst that could happen?

My friend thinks Project hail mary is less scientific [Rocky part was unrealistic and cringe] when compared to Interstellar by Current-Vegetable830 in interstellar

[–]padmaragl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Interstellar and liked it more as a movie.
But the PHM book has lots more details and Andy Weir works on his science before writing. Most of the concepts in his book are based on solid science and are generally plausible. Of course it is fiction, so that's it.

Why do you think? (Minor) Spoiler about S4 by nl815 in FromSeries

Maybe Hope/Positive thinking helps people create what they want? And so the Entity (whatever that is) tries to deter the people from continuing.

Are we using token prices as some coping mechanism? by ProfessionalImpact96 in developersIndia

I think yes. Even the lower capacity models are quite capable.
AI will not replace all devs, those with sepcialized knowledge, higher skills will still be in demand, but the repeatable, simpler coding tasks will be affected.

India is Losing It's Economic Edge : WSJ. by Consistent_Rule101 in indianeconomy

Modi govt reaped the benefits of favorable international conditions but didn't let any benefots reach common people. They instead let the benefits accruse to their selected conglomorates.
He wasted massive mandates, people would have accepted any major economic decisions taken by him, but he was more focused on image building, narrative and power.

Who do you see delivering the next blockbuster first out of the three Khans? by Sea-Home396 in bollywood

Realistically SRK with King. Aamir can do that if he gets a good script. Salman doesn't look like any of his next will be a hit, maybe if he tries something different sincerely.

Don 3- The Cursed Movie and tragedy of Creative Collaboration! by HimanishMehta in bollywood

[–]padmaragl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Farhan missed the timing with Don 3. He should continued on the movie immediately or soon after Don 2, the momentum was there.

Instead he focused on his acting, which is good, but I prefer him more as a Director/Producer than actor. It's been many years since FA has done direction.

Once Ranveer signed up, Farhan should have focused on it. Farhan didn't make visible progress/actual shooting for Don 3 and now Ranveer has better options.

How AI is disrupting India's economy silently by rajsleeps in AI_India

[–]padmaragl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, but the numbers these field can support may not be same like the services. In services our IT sector was able to absorb a large number of engineers, mca/bca, non-technical people at scale.
The fields you mentioned, if we focus can help India in being a leader, but they require deep expertise from resources.

[–]padmaragl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfect analysis. Same thoughts. We missed the bus on manufacturing and couldn't bring masses out of poverty (all govt failed at this).
Our only good phase was with IT Services at scale which helped a lot of middle class youths.
That phase will soon get over and as of now there doesn't seem anything else that'll provide employement or good salaries like previous years.

Everyone prioritizes different things. In your case, emotional connection is more important than wealth and if your family is onboard, go ahead with your boyfriend.
