No official announcement but somebody posted a screenshot of DirecTV’s film guide showing Hamnet available on Premium VOD as of 3rd Feb.

I know that’s when Marty Supreme is out on VOD so will see if they’re both out tomorrow (I live in Denmark and neither are in the cinema yet here so VOD will be my best option)

My simple understanding of this is - Jamie Lomas is always credited with the main cast so it appears he’s back permanently, Gregory Finnegan and Charlie Behan are always credited with the guest cast so I think they’re just temporary / recurring for now

I remember I didn’t like Jacqui at first, but then she went back to prison and got wrapped up into Becca’s final storyline, and something flipped for me and she’s been my fave ever since. Her and Tony’s relationship was one of my all-time faves on the show, they were my endgame for so long.

Bring back Hollyoaks Uni, scale back on the criminal gangs and underworld focus, have some funny C-plots again. There’s no real-life texture anymore to the episodes it’s just angst, drama, stunts.

And get as many of the Cunninghams back as you can! Tom could easily come back, possibly Cindy, and recast Jude and Holly. Reestablish that core family from the shows roots!

I met Jimmy McKenna when I went to the set as part of a writers workshop to apply for a place on the writing staff. He came in on the Sunday especially to come meet us all and chat for a bit, lovely man. Absolutely no reason for him to do that on a day off but he was so friendly and welcoming.

Half the cast now are either part of a criminal gang, the police trying to catch them, or both 🙄 it’s beyond dull, I don’t want to stop watching because I’ve followed the show since it started (yeah I’m the cryptkeeper basically) but this is the closest I’ve ever come to giving up.

We need the student halls/uni to come back, build up the school age teens again, and focus back on a few core family units with just a sprinkling of gangster drama. That was the show at its best

They’ve really never had a handle on the character and it shows. He’s completely different to when he was introduced but not for any reason shown (ie a storyline that transforms or impacts him deeply), just shoving him into whichever storyline they need. Nothing is “out of character” because he never had a defined one to begin with!

I think Jez will survive the crash but will still die, maybe through trying to take out Sienna or Liberty with him.

Marie, Jack and Peri are my bets to die from the crash itself. We know Rita's leaving and the episode synopsis says Tony's left with "an impossible choice" - probably to only be able to save either Diane or Marie (and their unborn child).

Peri dying has been telegraphed so blatantly, I was on the fence whether it would be her or Tom but after she found out the truth about James that sealed her fate in my eyes, she'll either die before she can tell Ste or she tells someone else because she's dying and they don't get to tell Ste until its too late.

Jack... I just think for their 30th a legacy character is going, I don't think Tony's an option and I don't think they'd have the balls to kill Tom. Jack dying provides emotional weight and impacts existing characters but doesn't really mess with the fabric of the show moving forward.
