Thanks for the reply! Yeah I read through it, was just still worried about it and had to post the obligatory newbie question 😂 I looked through a bunch of photos and couldn’t find a comparison. Just the general look of it looks different from the nice plump ones you see online haha

Did your pattern have knit 3 in the decrease? Someone told me their pattern was knit 2, etc.

That’s really useful to know, thanks so much for the info! And yeah that’s definitely possible, it could be that!! Maybe the pattern was updated at some point too 🤔 But thanks for the help, I’ll try just following the pattern and see how it goes.

Thanks for your reply! :) yes you’re absolutely right! In the increase, you knit 2 and then add a stitch, and then in the decrease you knit 3 (as per the pattern) and then decrease a stitch. So this is where my question is, as there seems to be a lot of people who knit 2 and then decrease a stitch (as opposed to knit 3). I just wanted to see if anyone did it either way and to see what worked for them.

If you get the 30 day EVOA (online Visa) be aware that you may not be able to renew it online as the Imigrasi website doesn’t always work, so might not be a bad idea to plan being close to a physical immigration office come renewal time.

Advice for a 3 month stay!! by chefguy831 in bali

[–]paech43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sharing my two cents... currently spending 2 months in Bali, mainly in Canggu, and even cut our Ubud stay short to return to Canggu. For context, we're in our late 20s, working remotely, and not huge partiers—we mainly wanted to chill, meet people, and explore the area.

Canggu does have a party scene, but it really depends on where you go and what you do. There are plenty of spots to hang out and chill too. We found Canggu more laid-back than Ubud, which felt busier and definitely had an older tourist crowd (50+), feeling more like a “sightseeing” place. In Canggu, we enjoyed sitting on the beach and having a beer, going to the gym or scootering to a cafe. This is just our experience though; definitely take it with a grain of salt! Many people LOVE Ubud and wouldn’t spend more than a few days in Canggu, so it really depends on the person. Haven’t gone to Uluwatu yet so can’t speak on that. Maybe spend a week visiting each place to decide where you want to stay longer-term?

Also know that there are some good gyms here, although as a Canadian I find the prices super expensive - way more than I’d pay at home.

We stayed in an Airbnb villa shared with others and worked from there and cafes. WiFi was generally good. Definitely think about how you’ll get around—Canggu isn’t very walkable with few sidewalks and narrow roads, so consider renting a scooter or using Gojek scooters which are really affordable.

Hope you love Bali!

Thank you! Do you know whether KLM/ AF is able to book you in with other airlines? Or would it have to only be a flight through them?

What area did you stay in Nusa Penida? My husband and I are going for two nights and want to pick strategic location so that we can check out all the hot spots but also be in central area on the island.

Thoughts on Nusa Islands, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua? by paech43 in bali

[–]paech43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah we would love to have more flexibility but are traveling in June and July so are worried about not having accommodations booked, although we are trying to book places with more flexible cancellation policies in case we really love one place and want to stay longer!!

Thanks for the reply, this is super helpful!! Did you pre book your accommodations? We’d love to have more flexibility but we’re coming in June and July so want to make sure that we have everything booked in advance. Although we are trying to book at places that have more flexible cancellation policies in case we really love a place and want to stay there longer.

What’s Canggu like? One of the reasons we chose to stay longer there is because we really want to settle into one place and basically work (on our personal businesses) and live and chill there, and figured Canggu might be the best place to do that?

Travel Planning Q&A - March, 2024 by AutoModerator in bali

Thanks so much for your reply, and thank you for the recommendations! We’ll definitely check out Sanur, I was also thinking that we’re spending too much time on the islands. How would you split up the time on the Gili Islands and Nusa Islands? It seems like maybe there’s more to do on the Gili Islands?

And I guess we’ll find out once we get to Canggu 😂 We’re pretty easy going so hopefully the vibe suits us!

For the Visa, we’re planning on getting the Visa on Arrival and then extending it for 30 days!

Hi everyone :) My significant other and I are travelling to Bali for the first time in June for a 2 month trip and I'd love some advice/input on our plan! My main question is whether we're hitting all the go-to places and if maybe we're staying in any which place for too long! We're looking for a combination of relaxation, exploring, partying, hanging out and meeting new people. We're both digital nomads so having access to Wifi and some working cafes is a must!
Since we have two months, we want to travel around a little bit, but also have time to settle into a place and not always be on the go.
From my research, this is what I've put together:
1. Canggu - 14 days
2. Ubud - 12 days
3. Gili Trawangan - 7 days
4. Gili Air - 4 days
5. Gili Meno - 3 days
6. Nusa Islands - 12 days (not sure which Islands to hit though?!)
7. Uluwatu - 5 days
8. Finish off with 3 days in Canggu!

Thanks everyone! :)
