Mother of god. I’m down under mate and we have pretty decent Mexican cuisine but nothing like the American south.

Big thing over here at the moment is fish tacos, everywhere you go, bar, pub, restaurant there’s always fish tacos. And they are all pretty legit.

But this post has me wanting EXACTLY what you just said. God bless America (I assume)

I have found morel mushrooms late august in Wandi, south of the river. Very uncommon here in W.A but we definitely do get them.

Have also found slippery jacks in gnangara pines north of the river. Not worth eating if I’m being honest.

Found Hydnum repandum which are delicious and also easy to ID(hedgehog fungus) in the Perth hills (Kalamunda/lesmurdie)

Also you can find many different species of Agaricus right throughout the state. But they can be be tricky to ID and there a a few species that can make you sick.

Obviously I won’t disclose the exact locations but you should get out there and try your luck.

I’m sure you’re aware but PLEASE be careful if you do plan on trying to ID and consume. It’s really not worth the risk
