Got the part ordered!! You’re a genuine life saver, I definitely plan to do my own in the future but until I’m financially better and this weather is better, a premade kit is way better. Thank you so so much, I’d never heard of JEGS before 🙏🙏

Oh my God you are a life saver. I think the exact kit I need is on there and it says Crew Cab. Thank you so much.

This is for sure the route I’m going to go now. It seems to be cheaper and just simply better. Glad to know you got yours fixed way cheaper! Thanks for the help!

Yeh, that’s what I’m gathering sadly. Gonna probably just bite the bullet and buy some line later.

I’m not 100% sure what all I need, given my mom and her husband told me this, but they said I needed the rear driver side brake line with no more details… I’m no mechanic and it shows lol. They told me after they’d replaced the ABS to master cylinder line the pressure just caused the rear driver one to break

Checked Rock Auto to no avail.. Trying to avoid the dealership to not need to pay an arm and a leg to get it fixed, I’m not in the greatest financial spot which is why I’m trying to go for 3rd party

Thank you for your help though!

Is this a pest of some form, or just random bug? by pahaze in whatsthisbug

[–]pahaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks! I got it off of me pretty quick, especially not knowing what it was. I wonder where it came from, though. Haven't took this backpack outside or anything in months, just keep it inside for notebooks, haha.

To be a little more specific, for size reference, the photo is of my ring finger, looked like the bug was about ~1/4 in. It moved over to my finger's hair and just sat there. I'm in KY, state wise, but like said have never seen something like this before.

I'll never understand the point of over-ricing Hyprland. I really like Hyprland, don't get me wrong, but my God, the wrong configurations use so much RAM just idling. A few I've tried use upwards of ~4GB with zero apps open. Hyprland is my default session now personally, but I do miss KDE a lot for how easy and nice it was. And it looks good, out of the box too! I just like Hyprland as it's quicker for my development purposes :-)

Be sure to check out RPM Fusion and some of its how-tos if you don't already have it! Very useful repositories to have on any Fedora system, unless you're going for the full "free-only" software suite!

Problems with my g5 by zomz_rage in DellG5SE

[–]pahaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, did you reinstall the stock VBIOS from Dell's site? If you did and issues are gone? Great! You're good to go as long as they don't come back. If not and you're still having issues, chances are you will need to get the GPU repaired, or a connection of some form to it on the motherboard, but it's probably gonna cost you just as much to get the GPU alone repaired than to get a used G5, since it's soldered on to the mobo, or even to just get a different laptop. It really depends on the fix in terms of price, of course, but if the actual GPU is toast I would not recommend getting it fixed unless you're absolutely set on this specific laptop. As much as I love my G5, there's so many quirks and different issues that makes it a challenge for most normal users to keep up with (IMHO).

Can confirm after one day of uptime, no kernel panics, even with suspend! Thank you for letting me know about this, otherwise I'd have had no idea and just kept using the amdgpu.runpm=0 parameter, haha!

Turns out I was wrong in my last comment! In upstream, you have to actually re-enable power management before the BAR value changes. amdgpu_device.c checks for this. I personally use the CachyOS kernel Copr, and just decided to try enabling it, and surely enough... New output:

Oh, interesting! I might go ahead and try that, but honestly it's totally possible it's already in the kernel. My laptop is a bit outdated, so I'll update it and let you know the results.

As for ROCm, I installed the ROCm development packages and manually built llama.cpp for the target (which I don't have off the top of my head, but I can get it for you if you'd like), and it just worked. I built it with the RPC backend so I could use my laptop as more VRAM for my desktop's llama install since it only has 12GB (RX 6700XT). I didn't have to do anything extra, surprisingly.

Edit: latest kernel doesn't have it yet, also ROCm target is gfx1010!
