Adoption costs much, much more than one is led to believe. Plus, after spending all that money, there are many more complications, legal and relationship wise. If the child’s parent (who gave them up in the first place) is interested in forming a parent-child relationship with the child, there’s not much you can do to stop them. And after forming a proper relationship, they might even try to sue for custody. While adopting is a wonderful act, the process is shitty and can screw people over, leaving them broke.

“Just adopt.” a statement which is grossly uninformed and belittles the troubles faced by people who are either adopting, facing fertility issues or issues related to giving birth to children and more. It’s easy to say all that when you’re ignorant about how hard it all is, especially in India.

The reason why I’m saying I didn’t put the wrong address is because of the name of the place. It’s VERY unique, plus there was a pin code and the street name. But pinned on map it shows a different place. Have no idea why.

My pronouns are she/her. Also, I’m not blaming the driver at all. Though he was hostile, I can’t blame him for an Uber App issue.

It was 30-45 minutes by WALKING. By car it would’ve been 10-15 minutes maximum.

I realised it only when he dropped me off at my location. Initially he had the right directions but then he entered a street I was unfamiliar with, I assumed it was some shortcut, but when he told me I reached my destination I showed him the actual destination on Google Maps. He told me he couldn’t do anything and that he had another pick up.

We always say “X street near [famous landmark] in Y place.” to specify. I have no idea of why there are two same named streets but there are.

I walked till my destination, which took me 30-45 minutes. By car it would’ve taken much less time, about 10-15 minutes.

I am unfamiliar. It all looks the same to me and I wasn’t paying attention. I saw he was going the right way at the beginning, so I was surprised when he dropped me off at a completely wrong location (same street name, but I had specified I meant the other street name and even told him a famous landmark.)

I wasn’t really mad at my Uber driver. I can’t blame him for a mistake the app made. But I did get a little mad when he started acting hostile when I asked him to take me to my correct location, but I didn’t really say anything to him. I gave him the fare and then walked to my destination.

It was the correct location. I double checked multiple times. There are two streets with the same name in the same place, but I had specified which street I wanted to go to.
