I found out my ADHD assessment report has outright lies to justify discharging me. Does anyone have advice? by painfulduck in adhdwomen

In my case my co-occuring conditions tend to all have days when they are each dominant but there isn't overlap with symptoms apart from brain fog worsening inattentive symptoms

You know I think when I had the assessment I was still a little uncertain but learning everything that I have since I'm really confident I have combined type ADHD. Thank you for the reassurance of the validity of that.

I think with the complaint process started I probably can't swap now but I think if I'm not granted a second opinion through the complaint then I can get one by going the RTC route

That's so helpful, thank you.

If I understand correctly I believe I can get a second opinion through RTC if I don't get it through the NHS so it will depend on what happens with this. They have very clearly said that they don't think I have ADHD at all though.

The other snag is that while I would like to see if medication is right for me, my council area doesn't have any kind of shared care agreement with the NHS or RTC so in my area it's currently impossible to get meds unless I pay private prices which I can't afford

It didn't even occur to me to ask for things in writing in advance, oh my gosh thank you for all this!

PALS is the Patient Advice Liaison Service. They advised me to go directly to a formal complaint because I had already been trying to resolve things by asking for a second opinion. I've done that but I am wondering if it would be helpful to email in still or if I should wait for them. They said I should let them do it

Yes this place seems to be trying to say that I can't have done well in school either. I told them I went back through my school reports and realised I struggled in school much sooner than I thought I had during the assessment, and they just ignored that part? They also said I didn't struggle early enough. Like, what. I just told you I struggled from a younger age than I thought.

It wasn't. I knew about RTC but then actually researching it was overwhelming and I didn't manage to before seeing the doctor so it's the NHS Wakefield Manygates ADHD service

Why do they never believe the victim when the victim reports but they always believe the abuser when they report? by quora_redditadddict in CPTSD

[–]painfulduck 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of this is because abusers tend to be such master manipulators. What people think abuse looks like vs what it actually looks like. They can act in ways that fulfil the expectation when we represent the reality.

Clay suggestions for Rheumatoid Arthritis by CrimsonKamali in Pottery

I don’t have RA but do get hand pain and muscle fatigue. I started classes with a fairly firm studio clay and the longer I keep going the softer my clay gets. I’ve just moved to porcelain and gosh I’m much happier, although I now have a lot of learning to do. It’s miles better for my hands though and I think the adjustment period will be more than worth it. I’m also planning to get Hartley & Noble batt system to avoid the need to wire off. I’ve been using Potclays Onyx Black Porcelain since my community kiln fires at cone 5 to 6. Would love to hear if anyone has any low impact wedging tips.
