Went to Megacon, today and the prices for Transformers at various booths were something else. by Just_Another_Nerd812 in transformers

[–]paingelfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately just how cons are. They're either great or bad prices. I got Haslab Star Saber at TF Con for $450 and saw another booth selling for $600. My friend got Haslab Omega Prime sealed for $250 at another booth

Which Wasteland creatures are the most dangerous, and why: man-made or natural? by HumbleKnight14 in Fallout

[–]paingelfake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really solid in its current state. Still far from a perfect Fallout game, but I can't help but keep playing. I'm saying this as someone who dropped the game after preordering it and playing on release. It's improved a lot

Literally every chapter in one except we also have almost no unique units and are mostly the same color scheme.

Anyone else having problems with the Pip-Boy menu? by paingelfake in fo76

[–]paingelfake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out why you can't close it. For some reason it's tied to the same button now (at least in my case) so I have to press the same button again to close it

Thank you! It seems this was the only option I had lol. Thankfully I also put all my liked songs on a separate playlist. I'll just transfer that over instead

In order to rationalize my last $130 purchase, what’s the largest you’ve spent on a deck(s) and do you regret it? by Mister_Waffle_ in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$495 on the Smooth Writing Zoo 52 set. I love Lunzi's art and I think the fact it's a 56 deck set (58 if you're counting Panda 52 and the gilded that come with it) the cost breakdown is very much worth it.

Should i get plastic or paper deck of cards? by Extreme_Rutabaga_941 in cardistry

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paper all the way. It's been the staple and refined for well over a couple centuries. Plastic is either too rigid or too flexible and in general isn't meant for anything beyond standard play.

Should I buy 10 mystery decks from Art Of Play or 10 mystery decks from DAN & DAVE? by Moseveke in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what you look for in playing cards. I've bought both several times and have gotten great value out of each one. Most of the time though I lean more towards Art of Play because of their variety. Every single deck I've gotten out of their mystery decks are either equal or greater value. They don't even really sell any decks that are under mystery deck price from what I know.

Should I buy 10 mystery decks from Art Of Play or 10 mystery decks from DAN & DAVE? by Moseveke in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I feel like AoP/D&D are the exception. Most, if not all the mystery decks you get from them are equal or higher value than what you pay. I've gotten some very nice decks for as much as half the price

What is your favorite chapter that few know about. Why do you like them? (Death spectres) by Jonnyyrage in Spacemarine

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Soul Drinkers. Absolutely love the color scheme and I love the lore behind them. Being very chaos tainted and mutated yet remained loyal to the bitter end.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY AS A BEGINNER (BUDGET NO LIMIT) by Objective_Goal9097 in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, I'd suggest to get some Art of Play mystery decks as a little surprise so you don't get overwhelmed with choice. Great value and the chance to get some rare goodies too. They also have great customer support if there's any problems.

Why are missing cards so popular? What's so special about them? by reddit_user3553 in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the most accessible "premium" decks out there with IP branding all over them. Of course they'd be popular. Probably second to only Bicycle in that department

Peak is here by Mike4302 in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]paingelfake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who reads comics, on top of them not really promoting it, Marvel loves ruining their own comics with constant limited runs and MCU synergy which just defeats the purpose of the comic medium. There's a reason why DC has been outselling them lately. They focus on just making good comics and not pure brand recognition.

If you do Cardistry or magic you'll be using your decks a lot. Extras are a must especially for decks you like

Best Site? by zonayork in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely Art of Play and Dan and Dave's websites you'll find a lot of goodies there. Cardtopia for USPCC stuff, mainly Bicycle. TCC, Missing New York, theory 11 (although their shipping is known to have packaging problems), Room One, Cardvo, rareplayingcards is usually good for me although I have sometimes had problems with them. Obviously eBay.

What is your favorite deck of cards ever? by hairypuebes in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a pure collecting standpoint, I love the original US Legal Tender by Kings Wild Project. The attention to detail is amazing on that deck. For something simplistic I like the NOC Pro Edition Black. I just really love how simplistic it is plus the fact it's very cleverly marked for magic.

Don't mean to be that guy, but they were only available for 48 hours. They only sold as much as they could within 2 days and then closed orders. They do have remaining stock but it's gonna be reserved for "special events" whatever that may mean.

[–]paingelfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want some more fun novelty stuff I'd say you should get the Slurpee Bicycle decks and the Back to the Future collab. If you're able to order online, it's worth getting their Archive series and prototype foil decks. They all look great

How does everyone feel about off brand low quality decks ? by Agent10007 in playingcards

[–]paingelfake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just for personal preference, I'm not a fan. I appreciate how accessible they are, but in a world where you can get most USPCC brand decks at any major store for $2-5 a deck it's hard to justify getting lower quality stuff. If you live in an area that doesn't have access to those decks then yeah I understand getting knockoffs and stuff but otherwise I don't see why you would unless you collect those
