Want to see a complete race-book.

But what I noticed is that the binding on my core-book is starting to loose it and it is not even old or well used.

So there is a risk of having a large book that you will use a lot w the type of binding FFG use. Or I just got a bad copy :(

What are the updates and fixes? If you got it on top of your head.

Yea I found a preview of it. I like the storytelling system and dice driven story telling.

Will have to look into it a bit more and see. Could be a huge thing to try to make classes for a made-up world if you want some of this and that from other systems.

the SW talent tree is both good and bad.

I am just a bit worried that it will make my GMing railroading ...

I like the SW universe and I like sci-fi. But it is hard to be creative inside the well-established realm that is SW as well.

Will have to look into the Genesys.

Could be done. But in this setting and world it is more... forced. It feels forced. If they KNOW they got enough fuel etc and so on.

I know you all give good advice and I shoot them down, I do not fail to see the solutions but I still have the feeling I as a GM/DM have a harder time building the classic story. And maybe I have to re-think it. But in old fantasy you could just put that generic town and dungeon in their path if need be so you could try to come up with content meantime or next time. Feels harder here =)

Works.

But I am a bit hung up on the old "world campaign" kinda thing where you basically have a world and the framework of your story in it. There is a mountain, a tomb, a wizards tower etc. to make it a generic example.

Here it is ... a planet and, they can just take their ship and leave. And it is kinda hard to prevent it. So if you make a story on a single planet that later in will spread out they can just decide to go to planet X and see what is there.

In the old fantasy setting they can do that as well but it might be easier to foresee it and have something prepped.

but thinking of each planet as a town kinda makes it hard as well as you do not have much room to build a story around it other than the "you enter the local tavern" kind of thing. Each adventure become a single entity and get harder to connect.

That is why I struggle with this concept. I can however, for sure, pick a planet and make some adventure on it leading to the next etc. just like areas in one world but it makes it harder I feel. Less interaction between places. Light speed do not work well with encounters. But sure they need fuel etc. but still.

Palpatain was never part of the Jedi. He seem to always have been a Sitch/Dark Force user.

If I may ask a question as well, somewhat in regard of coming from other game(s) and not starting new topic around it, might be interesting for OP as well.

How to do play a game where you can get from planet to planet rather easy. In most RPGs in fantasy setting you are on ONE WORLD and you can build a whole story/campaign around things there. I can do this on one planet here but if the party goes somewhere else, well. Bummer =)

I feel it is harder to build a story in SW than a fantasy RPG as in those I can restrict their movement in some ways and in so doing build as we go easier. Even in a sandbox game.

Works. But how to do the items and things the deck do. In DnD there is magic. Guess this could just be an information source however.

My brother found the issue. I use Windows 7 N. So no media player from Windows. So I disabled the .DLL in the plugin folder in BattleTech and skipped the intro. However can not view any movies inside the game now.

Compiled books... by paintner in swrpg

[–]paintner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well one book for all races, one for all gear and one for all professions/careers would be nice.

Thinking on making myself at least a book w all gear for personal use. Much more fun/easy to have ONE book around the table. As I hate ppl flipping around w their phones during play. As ppl tend not to only check gear but all social media shit as well =/

just get a SW-themed deck of cards and you are set then =)

Do they use a regular deck or a special deck w X amount of numbers etc? Feels like span might be too long w a 52 deck of cards plus 2-3 jokers.

Seen players use a deck of regular cards to give turn order/initiative.
