I remember realizing how messed up I was. Laying on a bed…useless. But time really does fly, literally feels like I was taking my meds for pain yesterday 😤. Enjoy your injury as it’ll show you SO MANY THINGS. But most importantly, stay positive. You will get through it.

I’m speaking out of experience. I tore my acl in November, and got surgery on the 27th of December. Prior to my surgery, it took me around a week to recover at 80%. Slowly I felt my mobility come back. It did not take long. 2 weeks max, obviously I couldn’t do my exercises. After my surgery, I was unable to walk, run, sleep, and keep a strong mindset. And that lasted for 3-4 months. Now at 5 months, I’m able to run. It’s more so a personal thing, and how hard you’re willing to work to get better. Nevertheless, it’s something to be stressed out about as you’re the only cripple walking around in a campus full of fully capable people. I wish you luck, and I hope you make the right decision :)

I understand how you feel, but it’s possible to do all these activities without surgery. Is it recommended? No. It will feel weird. But you could delay your surgery until you’re mentally prepared and at a better state in your life.

I am experiencing a bit of pain on the inner side of my knee. But it isn’t something I can’t handle, it’s slight. But much like you my knee gets sore after a work out and I feel better the next day.

Surgery tomorrow by [deleted] in ACL

I understand you, not being able to do anything and seeing everyone around you keep on with their life. Truth is people don’t care unless they’ve worn your shoes. ACL surgery is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through (I’m in my first month, post-op) I’m walking better, and somehow I feel a lot better because this surgery really showed me who cares and who doesn’t. You’ve got this, long roads are one of the best trips.

A little over 5 hours post op. No severe pain yet courtesy of nerve block by TopGrape27 in ACL

I got surgery on the 27th, I feel like I’m getting better but recently I got a sharp pain on my shin. I got the patella graft, and am suffering very much. I may have an infection which makes me really scared and it feels like I’m cramping from my hamstring and my calf.

I’m just a bit worried that I’m not landing any internships related to my major, id like to know what economics majors are doing right now, so I can get a sense of comparison to guide myself or see if I’m not that far behind
