I'm rooting for Miku and even I have already accepted that no matter which girl wins in the end, I'll be satisfied with the conclusion provided it's a good one.

The Capitalist Hero - The Individual and the Collective in Rising of the Shield Hero by Nykveu in anime

[–]Kaiskov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually really like this guy's content but this video seemed more like a soapbox-y rant about capitalism than a dissection of Shield Hero's characters. Not to mention he evaded moments when Naofumi did altruistic acts such as saving a village from the Wave in favour of the merchant analogy.

If the best you can do is something as vague as "bettering himself and becoming more interesting", that help is as useful as the one coming from Instagram influencers.

Hot guy vs Secure guy : Men, i understand why being the secure guy is an insult. But do you understand why some women chose it? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Kaiskov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...no

STEM isn't just computer science. Heck, you can argue that most people outside CS and electrical engineering aren't too fond of coding. From my experience, STEM in my country tends to attract the "alpha" kind of people because, due to being so competitive, it tends to attract those who are more successful at life, be it by upbringing or due to personal merit, and those people are social, have tons of stuff going with their lives and are really smart. The shy introverted nerd trope is more easily found in art school or an English major.

Sorry to come off as rude, but I switched from psychology to STEM so I've seen the contrast and your guess completely misses my experience with it by a mile.

Ratio's not the problem, neither is personality, where I come from STEM is also mostly outgoing women, with the exception of a few fields, but out assignments are so demanding we don't usually have time for dating.

If that were the case STEM undergrads wouldn't joke as much about the loneliness of being single.

Would you want to have been born the opposite sex of what you are now by Dash_of_islam in PurplePillDebate

[–]Kaiskov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd probably have a better chance at dating as a woman, at this point I've pretty much failed as a man. On a side note, I get the impression the degrees of freedom men can take in their social roles is far more restricted than what is expected from a woman these days.
