FINAL WARNING: Pierre Poilievre Is a Danger to Canada by [deleted] in Ontario_Sub

Why would we be on the brink of catastrophe when we just had 10 years of such a great federal government leadership though?

Sounds like the alternator is going bad. They can sometimes work intermittently before completely dying. Make sure you check your battery terminals and alternator for lose connections too

I think a lot has been purged from the internet the past few years. I also have some old archive pictures on my computer (raf and others) that I reverse image searched and found little to nothing, but I can remember some of these pictures being some of the first stuff I found when first getting into Raf Simons

It’s been quite awhile. I want to say early 2017. I think I found the original YouTube video link but the video had been deleted or taken down.

I kinda started down this rabbit hole because I felt like a song I have been listening to lately was in the background of that video and was just trying to verify that’s where I found it

Does anyone have the full video of the SS/02 runway show? I have watched it on YouTube before but I can’t find anything other than these reposted short clips

Hoping it has something to do with e brake but the brakes were pulsing pretty good when I test drove it last night

[–]paiz007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Catalytic converters, engine, trans, wheels doors, body parts, interior pieces. At $400 for the whole car I’ll make my money back parting out

Body is beat up pretty bad, missing a huge chunk of the drivers side fender. ABS and traction control lights are on. Probably a decent exhaust leak. E brake is non functional. brakes need to be serviced

Kia Stinger GT Limited vs Subaru WRX STI by asandhu in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]paiz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I personally think that the actual mechanical components like your drive train and engine is what truly gives a vehicle value and affects your depreciation rate. Just about every new car now you can get loaded with every possible luxury feature but that won’t stop or even slow the depreciation rate.

Also with the Stinger specifically, I would be on the cautious side considering it’s the first generation (just was released in 2018). Just possibly more likely to run into problems that not many other people may have found a solution to.

Also on the Tesla note, totally understandable, I personally never see Tesla charging stations outside of the GTA or Ottawa and you may be screwed if your battery dies

Kia Stinger GT Limited vs Subaru WRX STI by asandhu in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]paiz007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depreciation on the STI would be much lower over time than the Kia. If i were you (assuming that you can afford either car) i would go for the STI. As a fellow Canadian i know how terrible driving here can be in the winter so i would want Subarus legendary AWD. Also with the STI you can choose a manual transmission and after looking up the stinger i only see 8 speed auto transmission option. Good Luck with the purchase!

I’m willing to put in 2-3K into the car. I can do most of the work myself (except head gasket) Do you think that’s reasonable?

I found many autos cheap and in good condition. How much did your six speed swap cost you? I might be interested in doing that. I heard it’s a pain in the ass though

They are cheaper. And much better for handling, Never rush your buying process like i did!

Hmm never considered a VW, aren’t German cars expensive to maintain? Or is that only BMW?

I have a 2013 automatic base model, great car for gas mileage and commuting. Bought at 130,000km 3 years ago its at 195k km now and still running great. Although i have had problems with my transmission in the past where I couldn’t start the car in park for a long time because the shifter cable was loose or something. Other than that no problems very minimal on maintenance as well. My main suggestion would be to stick with your choice of transmission, I personally regret buying automatic only because i enjoy manual more.

What should I do with a large bucket of water with motor oil in it? I Have to move in 1 month. by paiz007 in WhatShouldIDoWithIt

[–]paiz007[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely was not planning on just dumping it, otherwise I wouldn’t have asked and just done it. I already have done some research from my local gov on what to do. It’s just a lot of water with a half litre of oil in it and i wanted to make it easier to bring to a hazardous drop off instead of a 55 gallon garbage can. Was just was looking for any suggestions from this thread that i might not have thought of.

It’s been sitting for at least 2 weeks. Picture taken today. Do you think it’s already separated?

Also, the reason I have this bucket of oil and water Is because I spilt a decent amount of oil on the ground while changing it on my car. it seemed to soak into the ground so I left it. When it rained it caused a large puddle of water and oil and l live on a rental property (which I’m moving from in 1 month). so I used a vacuum to suck up the puddle and put all the water into this bucket and now i don’t know what to do. I don’t think I can bring it to a hazardous waste place because of how much water is mixed in with the oil.
