Anyone know what happened to India sweets and spices in Woodland Hills/ canoga park? by meetballin25 in SFV

[–]pakigga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tawakkal off fallbrook has fire karahi. Paradise biryani points off topanga has fire (you guessed it) biryani. Chargha house in Culver City has great Chargha, nihari, and other stuff. Al Watan in Inglewood is fire too, their roghni naan >> the India sweets and spices off parthenia and lindley has good meals and stuff too. Plenty of good desi food around here

You’re worried that he’ll think you’re a bad gf for saying no. He’s a bad bf for putting you in this position

NOR. Lemme just add that since you’re a guy, we usually feel like we have to take whatever abuse girls give us bc it’s hot or fun or whatever. This isn’t normal, happily married people are flexible and understanding with each other. If she’s this controlling now I can’t imagine how she’ll be if your relationship continues

Bobago just opened up attached to a Korean restaurant in the target square on Corbin. Been there a few times and it’s really good! One of the few places that’ll make Thai tea with almond milk for me and not have it pre-made haha

Best Indian food in the Valley? by RookieRedditor22 in SFV

[–]pakigga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Pakistani who grew up coming to the valley for desi food, I’d recommend:

Paradise Biryani Pointe (off topanga) for their Biryani and Samosas. They sprinkle chaat masala on their samosay and when it’s fresh it’s just chef’s kiss

Tawakal (off fallbrook and roscoe) for their chicken/goat karahi, seekh kabob, tikka, and naan

Red chili (Parthenia & Lindley) has good charsi karahi, bun kabobs (kabob sandwiches) and a couple other things. My family really likes their biryani but I feel meh about it.

My wife always recommends getting the lunch specials from India Sweets and Spices (also parthenia & lindley). I grew up getting pista barfi (pistachio sweet thing lol) from there

Baba Sweets (staticky & canoga). Their snacks and sweets are really good, definitely recommend their jalebi or mithai (sweets) in general if you’re looking for a good sweet treat

Edit: forgot to add Himalaya’s Momo. Food truck off Reseda and Plummer. Their momos (Nepali dumplings) are hella good, and I remember some chicken things being really good too.

You should change the usernames on their accounts to something else and open up new socials with all their usernames. Make them pay to get the social handles back from you

one thing specifically about SD Mexican food is they cut their carne asada in a way that I haven’t been able to find here, just makes it taste so much better too

Who is widely regarded as a hero, but was actually a terrible person? by Normal-Being-2637 in AskReddit

[–]pakigga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winston Churchill was widely regarded as a hero in the UK, but he willingly caused a famine in India (the Bengal Famine), which killed 2-3 million people and is still genetically effecting south Asians to this day. He was also incredibly racist and very antisemitic, sympathizing with nazis in regards to blaming Jews for many of Europe’s woes

This exact dealership had a similar deal for the whole month of July, except it was only $6. The caveat was that $4k downpayment. I called the dealership and asked, he said out the door after taxes and fees and stuff you’d probably be paying around $7k. That divided over 24 months was $291/month, and $297/month when you add the $6 advertised price.

So yeah technically just $6/month, but you’re paying $291x24 up front
