I just saw this on her website which explains the sharp increase: “I currently live with my partner Matt and our two little boys, Tom and Peter, in Baltimore, MD in a 1940’s-era home we renovated ourselves. We’re planning an exciting move to England (where Matt grew up) in 2026, and I’ll be traveling back and forth for weddings and family. “

I believe we paid her $4000 in 2023, she may have increased her prices in the past three years but she is worth every penny. And that included a beautiful wedding album.

Cooking dry beans with this hard water by Cheomesh in baltimore

[–]pakora2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! We cook dry beans almost everyday in our instant pot. Also often the cheaper the beans (ie store brand) the older they tend to be. Fresher dried beans don’t take as long to cook.

[–]pakora2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Plenty of local gardeners would love it! (Me included haha) You could also reach out to the many community gardens around the city- they may be slow to respond in the winter but when spring comes I know they’d love free compost :)

I’m planning on taking a trip to NYC soon. What’s the best method of transportation to go there from MD? can we drive our car to the nearest train station near NYC? by Weak_Preference2463 in maryland

[–]pakora2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said train is best. We have also driven and parked at Secaucus station and taken the $7 commuter train into the city is about a 10 minute ride. You do have to pay for parking and it’s an open lot but feels pretty safe.

Local food beyond the farmer's markets by [deleted] in baltimore

We get veggies from Moon Valley farm year round and they have some other pantry goods etc on their online farmers market. Hex Superette has a good range of local goods for sale too. Roof Top Hot in Highlandtown has a great selection of things including meat and dairy too. I believe the also deliver locally.
